NSW Young Labor Left Statement expressing concerns regarding the proposed Anti-Protest Laws in NSW.

The Bondi Beach attack must be condemned and demands a response that strengthens collective safety without sacrificing our democratic foundations. Measures such as strengthened gun control are rational and necessary responses that YLL fully welcomes and endorses.

However, we reject, unequivocally, the proposed attempt to expand state powers to target political protest, dissent, and expression.

NSW Young Labor Left In Solidarity with the Jewish Community After the Bondi Anti-Semitic Attack.

We must stand together against hatred in all its forms. Racism is a tool intended to divide us and make us falsely fixate upon our differences rather than our vast and inexorable commonalities. We must reject fear, reject division, and reject the violence that seeks to tear us and our communities apart.

We must continue to stand by our values, to ensure the safety, dignity, and humanity of all.

We will mourn together.
We will rise together.
Only together can we endure.
