✨ Te Hoe Ki Matangireia – Koroneihana 2025 ✨

E ngā hoa, e te whānau whānui, we’re proud to share that our rōpū are currently in Aotearoa and will be taking the stage tomorrow morning (Saturday) at 7am as part of the Koroneihana celebrations.

This is a special moment for us as the last time an Australian kapa haka stood at Koroneihana was many years ago. To return now is both a privilege and a milestone for our journey as a rōpū.

We want to acknowledge Tony and Ngaria Walker and their kapa, Te Pou o Mangatāwhiri Kapahaka, for opening the door for us to be part of this kaupapa. Your aroha and support have made this opportunity possible, and we are deeply grateful.

To our whānau in Australia and across the motu, thank you for backing us every step of the way.

Tune in tomorrow morning to witness this special occasion as Te Hoe Ki Matangireia represents our people, our kaupapa, and our place in history at Koroneihana 2025 via the Kiingitanga page.

He mana, he tapu, he wairua. ✊🏽❤️🖤

Beloved Kaumātua and staunch supporter of Te Hoe Ki Mātangireia, Pāpā and Aunty Kerrie moved around with our kapa in our early years whilst he was well.
Pāpā has dedicated much of his life to the Māori community, not just here in Sydney but all over Australia. He was known as the ‘hiki wairua’ and all out crack up koro on the paepae.
Staunch in his Tūhoe identity, he was a force to be reckoned with.

The sound of your laughter will be missed, Pāpā.
Kia au to moe.

Note: Please be patient with the whānau as they make arrangements for Pāpā. We will update this post as we hear more.
