As the Masjid Omar Wollongong community has always done…we come together on Eid with faith, happiness, unity and family spirit 🌙❤️

We warmly invite all brothers, sisters, families and children to join us for Eid Al-Adha Prayer and celebrations at Masjid Omar Wollongong in a welcoming and uplifting atmosphere filled with takbeer, smiles and the spirit of Eid.

To accommodate the diversity within our community, Eid prayers will be held on:

🌙 Wednesday 27 May 2026and also on🌙 Thursday 28 May 2026 (for those following local moonsighting)

🕌 Eid Prayer: 7:30am 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Families, women and children are all warmly welcome

We kindly encourage everyone to display the beautiful manners of our community, respect our neighbours, and follow parking and traffic guidance so we can all enjoy a safe and joyful Eid together.

Today, Masjid Omar Wollongong witnessed the first Janazah prayer held in the new mosque facility, marking an important and emotional moment for the local Muslim community. The Janazah prayer, funeral coordination and burial arrangements were organised through Masjid Omar Wollongong in cooperation with Sydney Islamic Funerals, with the support of the community committee and many volunteers who assisted throughout the process. Following the prayer, the funeral procession continued to the cemetery where the burial arrangements were supervised and coordinated respectfully and in accordance with Islamic traditions. We sincerely thank everyone who attended, participated and supported the family during this difficult time. The large attendance reflected the unity, compassion and strength of our community. Masjid Omar Wollongong continues to serve the Muslim community not only as a place of worship, but also as a centre of support, care and community service during important moments in people’s lives. شهد مسجد عمر في ولونغونغ اليوم إقامة أول صلاة جنازة في مبنى المسجد الجديد، في لحظة مؤثرة ومهمة للمجتمع الإسلامي في المنطقة.

وقد قام مسجد عمر ولونغونغ بتنظيم صلاة الجنازة وترتيبات الجنازة والدفن بالتعاون مع Sydney Islamic Funerals، وبمشاركة ودعم من لجنة المسجد وأفراد المجتمع والمتطوعين الذين ساهموا في إنجاح هذا العمل المبارك.

وبعد صلاة الجنازة، تم الانتقال إلى المقبرة حيث تم الإشراف على إجراءات الدفن وتنظيمها بما يليق بحرمة الميت ووفق التعاليم الإسلامية.

نتقدم بالشكر الجزيل لكل من حضر وشارك وساند أهل الفقيد، حيث كان الحضور كبيراً ومعبّراً عن روح التكاتف والمحبة بين أبناء المجتمع المسلم.

ويواصل مسجد عمر ولونغونغ دوره في خدمة المسلمين، ليس فقط كمكان للعبادة، بل كمركز لخدمة المجتمع والوقوف مع الناس في مختلف الظروف والمناسبات.
