We recently caught up with grant recipient, Dr Belinda Lee. Dr Lee and her team are advancing research into non-invasive ways to detect pancreatic cancer earlier. Their work has shown that urine contains a broader range of proteins than plasma, opening up new possibilities for identifying biomarkers linked to pancreatic cancer.
By refining their approach across growing patient cohorts, the team has developed a promising pancreatic cancer protein signature. Each new finding brings us closer to what matters most: earlier, more reliable detection through a simple, accessible test.
The next phase will expand the dataset and develop a targeted assay to further improve accuracy and reliability, with the long-term goal of creating a clinically accessible test that could benefit people across Australia.
This is progress in action. Progress made possible by a community committed to creating a fairer chance for everyone affected by pancreatic cancer.
đź’ś Thank you. Every donation, every fundraiser and every act of support helps drive research like this forward.
