Squash New Zealand mourns the passing of Jim O'Grady.

The squash community has lost one of its most respected and valued leaders.

He served as Chair of Squash New Zealand from 2007–2009 and as Chief Executive from 2009–2018, guiding the organisation through a significant period of growth and development. He also served Oceania Squash with distinction as President for many years, concluding his tenure in 2023.

Jim's passion, wisdom, integrity and unwavering commitment left a lasting impact on countless players, administrators, volunteers and clubs throughout New Zealand and the wider Oceania region.

We extend our deepest condolences to Jim's family, friends and all those whose lives he touched. He will be greatly missed, and his contribution to our sport will never be forgotten.

Funeral details: Thursday, 2.00pm, Nelson. Further details will be published in The Press on Wednesday.

Squash Australia is proud to award Life Membership to Peter Wright OAM, recognising an extraordinary contribution to the sport spanning more than 60 years. ❤️

From champion player to dedicated administrator, mentor and advocate, Peter’s impact on squash in Australia is immeasurable. His leadership helped shape Masters squash across the country, while his achievements on court and service to the game have inspired generations.

The honour is especially significant, marking the first Squash Australia Life Membership awarded in 20 years.
