A Powerful “End It Now” at Mt Druitt SDA Church!
On behalf of our coordinator's Pr Daron and Meleofa, we would like to extend a huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported, participated in, and contributed to our End It Now program at Mt Druitt SDA Church.
First and foremost, we give all glory, honour and praise to God, who continues to lead, strengthen and empower us to stand together against violence and abuse against women, children and men.
This meaningful program was an initiative of the Family, Children, Ministerial Education, Women and Prayer Ministries, working together in collaboration to raise awareness, encourage healing, promote safety, and remind our communities that violence has no place in our homes, churches or society.
We were also honoured by the presence of the President of the Greater Sydney Conference, Pr Alban Matohiti, who provided a meaningful statement in support of ending violence and bringing greater awareness to this important issue. We are grateful for the leadership, encouragement and commitment shown in standing together with our churches and communities to say End It Now.
Special thanks to:
• Guest Speaker, Mrs Litiana Turner, for her compassionate, powerful and moving message on the reality of abuse and the importance of walking in the shoes of those who have experienced it. Your words touched hearts and challenged us to listen, understand and respond with compassion.
• Pr Tai Mokoroa and the members of Mt Druitt SDA Church for generously providing the venue and welcoming us.
• Our wonderful Praise & Worship Team, New Sydney Samoan, for leading us into God's presence through uplifting worship.
• Sister Jennifer Garcia, for courageously sharing her testimony and how God helped her through a challenging season in her life. Your testimony was a beautiful reminder of God's faithfulness and strength.
• Sydney Adventist Women Advisory Team and their husbands for helping out on the day with catering and setup.
• And to all our amazing attendees from our West, South, Central and North regions, thank you for standing together and showing your commitment to ending violence and supporting those affected by abuse.
The message is simple but powerful: we must End It Now. We cannot remain silent. We must create homes, churches and communities where women, children and men are safe, valued, heard and protected.
This year, 45 women have lost their lives due to domestic violence, a heartbreaking reminder that this issue demands our attention, our courage and our action. Behind every statistic is a person, a family and a story.
May we continue to listen without judgement, speak up with courage, support with compassion, pray without ceasing, and act when it matters.
Let us continue working together as a church and as a community to End Violence Against Women, Children and Men. End It Now.!
“Let all that you do be done with love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14
End It Now. Speak up. Stand together. Be the change.
