AVCAT is delighted to announce the R.W.Hill Aviation Scholarship for 2027. The Hill Family is partnering with AVCAT to assist children and grandchildren of Australian Veterans towards the cost of gaining their Commercial Pilot's Licence. The Hill family's proud tradition of service began with Richard William Hill, who served in the Australian Army before transferring to the Royal Australian Air Force as a pilot during the Second World War. His commitment to service established a lasting legacy, inspiring several of his sons and grandchildren to serve in the Australian Defence Force. Reflecting the family's passion for aviation, one of his sons, three grandsons and two great-grandsons have also earned a CASA Private Pilot Licence or higher. AVCAT welcomes the Hill Family as one of our valued sponsors.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

The service was led by Mr Robert Ridge (President, Five Dock RSL Sub-Branch) and conducted by Rev Trevor Young, Royal Australian Army Reserve Chaplain, with guest speaker, Group Captain Jason Lind BEng (Aero) Mgmt.
