Final day of the Spokes Central West Bike Trail - Wellington back to Gulgong ; 80km today . The first 30 km was on sealed roads then back to very well graded gravel. It was good to leave today at 7:30 am and not our usual 9 am to beat the heat . We finished around 1:00pm . The total distance over 5 days was 375km . The toughest day was definitely Day 3 through the forest of Goonoo - the road surface was very sandy and rutted in parts and made for a hard slog .

Here are some highlights from Day 3 of the CW Bike Trail

CW Bike Trail Day 3 and day 4 : day 3 was brutal with 80% gravel through the forest of Goonoo. Lots of sandy bits and rivulets . Day 4 was better 70% sealed road and the gravel was well graded. Accommodation was a bit basic so we are looking forward to a rest at the Hermitage in Wellington tonight.

CWC Bike Trail - Day 4 - Ballimore to Wellington: roads were better today 70% sealed and only 30% gravel which was well graded.

Day 2 CW Bike Trail - heading west from Dunedoon to Mendooran via a local farm. A mixture of gravel and sealed road . It was a much faster pace today at 21km per hour. Sixty-four km in total .

The start of Sydney Spokes Toothbrush Tour out west - on the Central West Bike trail - around 460km over the next week. The weather is looking good

The next Spokes social ride : 23 August to the National Camellia Gardens in Caringbah .

This is our annual pilgrimage to the gardens to take in the camellia flowers which are in full bloom. The ride is at social pace and around 40km return from Tempe station. Full details are on our Stack Team app as usual.
