“Actions speak louder than words; let your words teach and your actions speak.” — Saint Anthony of Padua
Today, we celebrate the feast of Saint Anthony of Padua.
As a young priest, Anthony’s life was transformed when he encountered the remains of five Franciscan missionaries who had been martyred while preaching Christ. Their courage stirred within him a deep desire to give everything for the Gospel. Leaving behind a life of comfort and recognition, he embraced a path of sacrifice and complete trust in God.
Though God had different plans than the martyrdom Anthony sought, He used him to become one of the Church’s greatest preachers. Through his holiness, wisdom, and love for Christ, countless souls were brought back to the faith.
Today, Saint Anthony is also known as the patron saint of lost things. Yet beyond helping us find what is misplaced, he reminds us of something far greater: that no soul is ever beyond God’s reach, and that what has been lost can always be found again in Christ.
Saint Anthony’s life teaches us that true greatness is found not in what we achieve, but in our willingness to surrender ourselves completely to God’s will.
Saint Anthony of Padua, pray for us 🤍
