Mates On A Mission, Sydney (2026)

Mates On A Mission are just that, a group of mates whose goal is to raise money and give back to those in the community, less fortunate than themselves. To date, Mates On A Mission have raised in excess of $1,000,000. This money has gone toward funding for the Westmead Children’s Hospital, Fr Chris Riley’s Youth Off The Streets and more recently in building playgrounds and sensory gardens for Autistic and Special Needs children in numerous NSW schools. Mates On A Mission are also proud to have NRL footy Captain and NSW Blues State of Origin ho**er, Robbie Farah on their team. Robbie who is also co-founder of Mates On A Mission, takes pride in what the group have achieved today and sees the cause as a way to give back to the community. What's more, there are no administration costs with Mates On A Mission. All time is donated, meaning we can give as much as we can to those in need.

MEET SHREYA 🧡

This beautiful girl is Shreya, and recently we had the privilege of creating a very special MOAM Moment for her and her family. Shreya has been in a battle with Osteosarcoma for many months and life hasn’t looked like what a 14 year old might expect … so we knew we had to step in and change that.

We treated Shreya and her family to a three-night staycation at the beautiful Elysium Manly, giving them the chance to step away from hospitals and treatment and enjoy some precious time together by the beach.

But we had something extra special planned for Shreya.

A day at Taronga Zoo, including an incredible Lemur Experience, where Shreya and her family got up close with these beautiful animals and enjoyed a day filled with fun, laughter and a little adventure.

For families facing a child’s life-threatening illness, time together like this is incredibly precious.

It’s a chance to press pause on everything else. To explore, laugh, enjoy new experiences and simply be together.

Shreya, this Moment was for you.

We hope your Manly getaway, your day at the zoo and those very special lemurs brought plenty of smiles to you and your family.

Because memories matter.

A huge thanks goes to the entire team Elysium Manly, including the reservations team and the lovely Chloe at check in who made this family feel so special.

Eleven-year-old Skylah is facing Osteosarcoma, but for one very special day, we wanted hospitals and treatment to take a back seat to something she has always dreamed about.

Skylah’s favourite movie is the 2014 version of Annie. There’s a scene where Mr Stacks flies over New York City in a helicopter to help save Annie - and ever since watching it, Skylah has dreamed of having a helicopter adventure of her very own.

So, we made it happen.

Skylah took to the skies for her very own MOAM Moment - a helicopter flight inspired by the movie she loves so much.

Even more special, her family was right there on board beside her, sharing every second of the adventure.

For Skylah, this wasn’t simply a helicopter ride.

It was her chance to feel like Annie. To look out over the world from above, feel the excitement of taking off and, for a little while, forget about everything else.

It was a moment shared with the people she loves most, and a memory Skylah and her family will never forget.

Her very own Annie moment.

Because when life is filled with hospital visits, treatments and uncertainty, memories like these matter more than ever.

WHAT. A. NIGHT. 🧡

Our hearts are so incredibly full.

Our 2026 Gratitude Gala was everything we hoped it would be. A night filled with love, laughter, tears, generosity and, above all, gratitude.

To every person who joined us, supported us, donated, sponsored, bid, volunteered, performed or helped bring this incredible night to life, thank you.

But our greatest thank you belongs to our beautiful MOAM families.

Thank you for trusting us with your stories and allowing us to walk beside you. To those who travelled from near and far to be with us, and especially those carrying the unimaginable grief of a child who is no longer here, having you in the room meant more than we can say.

There were moments we will never forget. Stories that moved an entire room to tears. Laughter that filled it again. And hundreds of people brought together by one simple belief:

Memories matter.

Saturday night reminded us just how special this community is and how much more we can do together for children facing life threatening illness and the families who love them.

To our families, sponsors, donors, supporters, founders, Board, team, volunteers and every single Mate who stood beside us, and every new mate who joined our mission … the gratitude is ours.

Today, we celebrate all the incredible dads, grandfathers and father figures who love, protect and stand beside their families through every season.

We hold especially close the dads in our MOAM family - those sitting beside hospital beds and staying strong through uncertainty.

To every dad in our community - we see your strength, your love and all that you do.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

Sadly, many of the children and families we have the privilege of walking alongside know cancer all too well.

They know the hospital rooms, the appointments, the treatments and the uncertainty. They know what it means for life to change in an instant and for childhood to suddenly look very different.

At Mates on a Mission, we can’t change a diagnosis, but we can be there through some of the most challenging days.

We can create opportunities for families to step away from treatment, even if only for a few hours. To laugh together. To reconnect. To feel like a family outside of hospital walls. And, most importantly, to make precious memories together.

For some families, those memories become even more significant with time, which is why we will continue walking beside them for as long as they need us.

This September, we honour every child that has faced or is facing cancer, every family walking beside them, and every beautiful child we have lost along the way. 💛

Because through it all, memories matter.

Today, on International Bereaved Father’s Day, we hold close every dad who knows the unimaginable heartbreak of losing a child.

We acknowledge the love you continue to carry, the memories you hold tightly to, and the space your child will forever have in your heart and your family.

To the bereaved fathers within our Mates on a Mission family and beyond - we see you, we stand beside you and we remember your beautiful children with you.

A father’s love doesn’t end with loss. It lives on in every memory, every story and every moment they are remembered.
