Mates On A Mission

Mates On A Mission An honest, hard working group of mates, whose goal is to send children with life threatening illness away on memory making experiences with their families.

Mates On A Mission are just that, a group of mates whose goal is to raise money and give back to those in the community, less fortunate than themselves. To date, Mates On A Mission have raised in excess of $1,000,000. This money has gone toward funding for the Westmead Children’s Hospital, Fr Chris Riley’s Youth Off The Streets and more recently in building playgrounds and sensory gardens for Auti

stic and Special Needs children in numerous NSW schools. Mates On A Mission are also proud to have NRL footy Captain and NSW Blues State of Origin ho**er, Robbie Farah on their team. Robbie who is also co-founder of Mates On A Mission, takes pride in what the group have achieved today and sees the cause as a way to give back to the community. What's more, there are no administration costs with Mates On A Mission. All time is donated, meaning we can give as much as we can to those in need.

We’ve got some exciting news!

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, the MOAM Gratitude Gala has found a new home at Le Montage on Saturday 19 September 2026.

As our MOAM family continues to grow, we wanted a space that would allow us to bring together even more mates, supporters, partners and advocates for what promises to be a very special evening of gratitude, connection and impact.

📅 Saturday 19 September 2026
📍 Le Montage, Lilyfield
🎟 Tickets on sale 19 June

The MOAM Gratitude Gala is an evening dedicated to those who make it all possible.

Every smile. Every escape. Every memory.

They only happen because of the incredible community standing behind Mates on a Mission.

This special night is our chance to bring everyone together, celebrate the impact we’ve made, share our vision for the future and most importantly say THANK YOU.

Because behind every MOAM Moment is a child facing a life-threatening illness.

Behind every memory is a family holding onto hope.

And behind every one of those stories ... is you.

Join us for an unforgettable evening of gratitude, inspiration and impact as we celebrate the people helping us create a meaningful difference in the lives of these beautiful children.

We can’t wait to see you there.

Happy 4th Birthday to our little mate Terron! We hope we made your birthday as special as you are with our visit to you at Ronald McDonald House, Westmead.

We know you had planned to be home with the rest of your family in New Caledonia by now, but hopefully we were able to bring a smile to your face, as we helped you celebrate.

Wishing you all the best little guy - you are in our thoughts daily.

Some children leave footprints on our hearts that will never fade.

Our MOAM Angels remind us how precious life is and why every moment matters.

Today we pause to remember all the little mates we have lost along our journey over the years.

Their spirit, their courage and their memories will always live on in our hearts and in the mission we continue in their honour.

We have been incredibly encouraged by the number of corporate partners who have already reached out to support MOAM Moments, an initiative by Mates on a Mission dedicated to creating special experiences for children living with life threatening illness and their families.

There are still a number of sponsorship opportunities available for organisations who would like to be part of creating these meaningful experiences.

MOAM Moments gives families something incredibly valuable during an incredibly difficult time. The chance to step away from hospital life, spend meaningful time together and create memories that will last forever.

Through corporate sponsorship, businesses have the opportunity to directly fund an individual experience such as a family getaway or special outing, thoughtfully designed around each child’s interests.

Sponsors can choose to be recognised publicly for supporting a family’s experience, or remain anonymous. What matters most is the impact these moments have on families who need joy, connection and time together.

If your organisation would like to partner with us and sponsor a MOAM Moments experience for a family, we would love to hear from you.

Please send us a direct message. We’d love to hear from you.

Together we can create moments that matter.

May is Brain Cancer Awareness Month.

A heartbreaking reality for far too many children and families, and sadly, a condition we see here at Mates on a Mission more than ever.

Behind every diagnosis is a child who deserves joy. A family carrying unimaginable weight and memories that become more precious than ever.

This month we stand beside every family impacted by brain cancer. We will always remember our beautiful little mates who have bravely fought this illness. Their courage and spirit in the face of adversity is unmatched and inspirational.

We honour your strength and we will continue doing everything we can to create moments of light during incredibly dark times.

Meet Steven, a beautiful 12 year old boy facing what no child should ever have to endure. Recently diagnosed with a high grade glioma, Steven and his family have suddenly found themselves navigating a journey no family is ever prepared for.

When Steven was referred to Mates on a Mission, we knew we had to move quickly. With his 12th birthday approaching, our team raced against the clock to create something special for him, a chance to step away from hospital appointments and simply be a kid surrounded by his mates.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we were able to organise a memorable birthday celebration for Steven and his school friends in Dubbo, filled with laughter, bowling, fun and moments of pure joy. For a little while, the focus wasn’t on illness or treatment. It was on friendship, smiles and celebrating a beautiful young boy turning 12.

These are the moments that matter most.

To Steven, we hope your birthday was filled with love, laughter and memories that stay with you forever. You are incredibly brave and surrounded by a community of people all wishing you strength for the journey ahead.

Please join us in sending love and well wishes to Steven and his family during this incredibly difficult time.

Today we honour the incredible mothers who carry more than most people will ever see.

The mums who sit beside hospital beds, who advocate for their children, who hold their families together through uncertainty, fear and exhaustion. Their strength, love and resilience are nothing short of extraordinary.

At Mates on a Mission we have the privilege of meeting some of the most remarkable mothers. Women who show unwavering courage while walking one of life’s most difficult journeys with their children.

Today we celebrate you. Your love, your strength and the quiet heroism you show every single day.

Happy Mother’s Day.
