Stop the War on Palestine will rally at 1pm Thursday June 11 outside the Downing Centre Court at 143 Liverpool St in the Sydney CBD to demand that all the Herzog protest charges are dropped and justice for those injured by police at the protest against the genocidal Israeli President in February.

29 people still face charges in relation to the Herzog protest despite Chris Minns' anti-protest laws being struck down in the NSW Supreme Court. All those still facing charges will have court dates on June 11.

There is growing opposition to the disgraceful decision to maintain the charges. The NSW Council of Civil Liberties and Civil Liberties Defence Centre launched a major open letter demanding all the charges from the Herzog rally are dropped. 131 advocacy groups and civil society organisations have signed the letter so far.

Every day Israel's crimes further indict Minns and his decision to welcome Herzog. Israel's Defence Minister Israel Katz has declared Israel is planning the large-scale expulsion of Palestinians from Gaza. Yet Australia continues to provide F-35 fighter jet parts from Quickstep in Bankstown, Bisalloy armoured steel from Wollongong and intelligence from Pine Gap spy base to Israel.

Sanction Israel now, drop the charges, justice for those brutalised by police on February 9. We will not be silent!

BDS win! 🇵🇸 Vivid drops genocide profiteer Airbnb as sponsor ✅

Vivid Sydney has quietly dropped Airbnb from its sponsors in 2026, despite successive sponsorship agreements in 2024 - 2025.

The end of this partnership is a major victory for all those who took a principled stand on this boycott, with many forgoing a major income source.

Last year, we protested Vivid and 24 artists and writers withdrew in protest, creating chaos for the festival. 36 acts signed an open letter to Vivid opposing Airbnb’s involvement, and over 1000 members of the general public signed a petition.

Together we made it impossible for Airbnb to use Vivid to art-wash its reputation. The company continues to operate in illegal Israeli settlements in the West Bank, a clear violation of international law. Airbnb must never be part of our cultural events while this continues.

We have put the NSW government on notice about collaborating with companies that aid Israel’s genocide.

Every time we successfully cut a tie between our institutions and Israel, we undermine the legitimacy of the occupation: brick by brick, wall by wall.

March with us on Nakba Day to Globalise the Intifada!

Now is an important moment to chant "globalise the intifada".

Chris Minns is considering backing down from proposed legislation banning the slogan in NSW.

Bans on the slogans "from the river to the sea" and "globalise the intifada" have been passed in Queensland, but activists have met these laws with fierce protests and vowed to challenge them in court.

Minns has said the outcome of legislation in NSW depends on the outcome of the Queensland court challenge.

If we want to bury these laws we can't wait for the courts. We need to defend slogans here and now.

Minns' attack on slogans is an attempt to smear the Palestine movement with accusations of antisemitism.

But we have made it clear that "globalise the intifada" is a call to resist Israel's genocide, in Palestine and everywhere.

Now is the time to show Minns that our movement will not back down. If you pass bad laws, we will break them.

Just over a week ago 20 people were arrested in Brisbane for defying the ban on Palestine protest slogans. In NSW Chris Minns still plans to ban "Globalise the Intifada". This slogan is a call for global solidarity with the Palestinian struggle.

The ban is part of an attempt to smear supporters of Palestine and silence criticism of Israel.

Join us to discuss what it means to Globalise the Intifada and why we need to defy Minns' anti-protest laws.

Join us in a Court Solidarity Protest: Drop the Herzog protesters' charges now!

📅 8.30am Wed 22 April

📍Downing Centre Court
143 Liverpool St, Sydney CBD

Chris Minns attacked basic democratic rights and unleashed brutal police violence during the visit of Israeli President Isaac Herzog in February, in an effort to silence opposition to Israel's ongoing genocide.

The cowardly police attack on the demonstration against Herzog on February 9 saw many severely injured and dozens arrested.

Despicable police violence was caught on camera and beamed around the globe. But shamefully, there has been no justice for those who had their democratic rights trashed and were physically assaulted by police.

In fact, to their eternal shame, NSW police have continued to arrest and charge more protesters from the rally.

We will rally outside Downing Centre Court to stand in solidarity with all those facing this campaign of repression and call for Minns' anti-protest laws to be scrapped and the charges against protestors dropped.

As Israel continues to bomb Gaza, accelerates its ethnic cleansing in the West Bank and rains hell down Lebanon and Iran join us to say that genocide is a crime- protest is not.

The new laws in Queensland prohibit written and spoken forms of the phrases “From the river to the sea” and “Globalise the intifada”, and carry penalties of up to two years in prison.

NSW Parliament resumes next week, and is set to vote on similar laws to prohibit the pro-Palestine protest slogan "Globalise the intifada".

Join us on Tuesday 17 March as Parliament resumes to stand against the ban on protest slogans.

Two Palestine protesters were arrested in Brisbane yesterday for using the phrase "From the River to the Sea".

One speaker was arrested for explaining to the crowd what the slogan meant, and another for wearing the slogan on a t-shirt.

We need to defy this crackdown on protest and the effort to smear the movement for Palestine.

Join our protest to stop the ban planned in NSW against "Globalise the Intifada" and stop anti-protest laws.

Queensland has now banned two Palestine protest slogans and NSW is next, with Chris Minns planning to ban "Globalise the Intifada".

This is another anti-protest law designed to stifle and smear the Palestine movement. Intifada means uprising. It is not hate speech.

"Globalise the Intifada" is a call to globalise solidarity with Palestine and end the complicity of governments worldwide with Israel's genocide. We need to end Australian weapons exports and intelligence sharing with Israel.

Join us from 6pm on 17 March as NSW parliament resumes to oppose the ban on "Globalise the Intifada" and defy Minns' anti-protest laws.
