Tharuna Youth-Group A Sri Lankan Group all about making new friends, empowering the community through culture and events.

Tharuna Youth Group (TYG) is the youth group of the Sinhalese Cultural Forum of NSW Inc. We aim to promote cultural awareness whilst building on old friendships and making new ones. This year will be taking on a new approach by organising smaller social events to get together more often and have more fun! Heyy hope everyone’s well -We have some exciting news share!

With our 2026 AGM for TYG coming up, we are opening up Expressions of Interest for the next TYG Committee positions - and we’d love to see you get involved!

Joining the committee is a great chance for you to build leadership skills, make new connections, add something meaningful to your CV, and help strengthen and grow our Sri Lankan youth Community. 🇱🇰

As a Committee member you’ll gain valuable experience, and play a role in organising events and initiatives for our Community.

You can apply for more than one role, so don’t hesitate to put your name down for anything that interests you ✨

Regarding the ongoing flooding crisis in Sri Lanka, Tharuna Youth Group and its members have collected and donated an amazing $1000 towards flood relief and support in Sri Lanka. 🌟

Every little dollar counts, we might not be there physically, but we can definitely provide them the support they need, whether it's donating any amount you can, or checking up on your loved ones in Sri Lanka, it all counts🙏🏾🙏🏾
