Monday and Thursday every week!
Skate Sydney every Monday and Thursday (unless it rains) 7pm start at the ICC / Chinese Friendship Gardens / Dance Alley.
This is a beginner friendly skate route through to the MCA. You should be able to control your speed and ideally be able to stop. Protective gear is always a good idea - its not a reflection on your ability - plenty of good skaters wear protective gear.
We are aiming to start skating at 7:15pm.
This is a social skate - be prepared to make new friends!
If its wet or if it looks like it will rain, the skate might not happen. Skating in the wet is quite difficult.
The official route is one way and finishes at MCA. After the MCA the route becomes a little more (and sometimes considerably more) challenging (due to more up and down hill sections, and much more pedestrian and vehicle traffic) so skaters need to assess their ability and decide for themselves. If you cannot confidently stop and control your speed you should skate back the same (flat) route or catch public transport back. You can catch train, light rail, ferry or bus from Circular Quay or work your way back to a Metro line or another station along the route back to ICC. Skaters will peel off along the way while some skaters will go all the way back to the ICC.
For new skaters - or skaters new to Sydney - this is a very scenic route.
