We feel so blessed to hear of our very own Sallianne Faulkner, President of Ramsgate RSL and the broader Societie Group, securing a prominent spot as 20 of the most influential figures shaping the future of Sydney’s St George and Sutherland Shire.

Sallianne's extensive portfolio of top-tier leadership roles across major sporting, community, and commercial organisations include:

⭐Chair and President of Netball NSW - from humble days of playing Junior Netball to heading up one of the state's largest sporting bodies.
⭐President of the Ramsgate RSL Memorial Club and sits on the board of ClubsNSW. Her focus on strong corporate governance and community facilities has made her an influential figure in the region's hospitality and social landscape.
⭐General Manager of the Bayside Women's Shelter, a local charity that provides crisis accommodation and support services to women and families fleeing domestic violence and homelessness.

IT’S TIME TO STAND UP FOR VICTORIA BARRACKS SYDNEY!

For 178 years, generations of Australian servicemen and women have served at Victoria Barracks Sydney – the spiritual home of the Australian Army in New South Wales.

Today, Australian Defence Force personnel are still serving there.

But the Commonwealth Government plans to sell it.

Once it’s sold, it’s gone for good.

We cannot recreate 178 years of military history. And at a time of growing global uncertainty, we should not surrender a secure, strategically located and still-operational Defence base on the doorstep of Australia’s largest city.

Those currently serving at Victoria Barracks cannot publicly campaign against the Government’s decision. But veterans can. RSL members can. And the Australian community can.

RSL NSW President Vince Williams, CSC (Retd.) is calling on veterans, their families, and communities across NSW to make their voices heard.

Help us send Canberra a message!

It is about protecting an irreplaceable part of Australia's military heritage, preserving a strategically important Defence asset and ensuring future generations don't look back and ask why we allowed it to be sold.

We have one opportunity to save Victoria Barracks Sydney.

🇦🇺 Battle of Fromelles — 19 July 1916

Today we remember the Australians who fought and fell at the Battle of Fromelles during the First World War.

Fromelles was the first major battle fought by Australian troops on the Western Front. The attack, intended as a diversion to draw German forces away from the Somme, became a devastating military disaster.

In the single night of 19–20 July 1916, the 5th Australian Division suffered 5,533 casualties, including almost 2,000 killed in action or who later died of their wounds.

More than a century later, we remember their courage, their sacrifice and the lives forever changed by the battle.
