FUNERAL NOTICE

SERGIO “Joey” LEONG (53) passed away suddenly on 20th June 2026.

He is sadly missed by his brother Nelson (in NZ) sister-in-law, Angelique; ad nieces: Chloe & Gabriella;

Uncle Stanley;

Uncle George, Aunt Suirine, & their family: daughter, Nicole; stepson, Wesley Fong Chong; stepdaughter, Fiona; stepson-in-law, Kevin Ling; step grandchildren, Genevieve & Timothy.

Uncle John, Aunt Jacqueline & their family: son, Andrew; daughter-in-law, Louisa& grandson, Patrick; daughter, Bianca; Son-in-law, Julian Long; grandchildren, Charlotte & Kieran.

The funeral will take place on Sun 5 July 2026, at Thom Kight 7, 16th Str Vrededorp.

Final respects to start at 11 am followed by a simple Chinese ceremony.

Please join the family for tea & refreshments after.

Cremation private.

Donations in lieu of flowers will be collected at the chapel for Hong Ning or EFT directly to Hong Ning Chinese Aged Home.

We are absolutely thrilled to share that Friends of Hong Ning has officially transferred another R120,000 to the Hong Ning Chinese Aged Home in Joburg! 🇿🇦❤️

This massive contribution is 100% thanks to YOU - our amazing community. Whether you attended our recent Easter Social, bought a raffle ticket, or made a direct contribution, your generosity is making a profound, direct impact on the lives of our seniors back home.

We also want to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to the families and friends who made beautiful bereavement donations in loving memory of Hu Kai Hong, Ufrieda Ho, Rose Tim, and Gladys Ford. 🕊️

As the Chairman, Winkin Leong, said in his letter: Thank you for keeping our residents close to your hearts.

The numbers are in, the draws are set, and we are officially locked and loaded for the 2026 Easter Social this weekend! A massive shoutout to everyone who registered - Mah Jong and Golf have had a fantastic surge in numbers, and the competition is going to be fierce! 🏌️‍♂️🀄️

Not playing a sport? NO PROBLEM! We want the whole community out in full force. Come down as a spectator, bring a picnic blanket or a camp chair, cheer on your friends, and bring the spirit! 🙌

But before the weekend kicks off, we have TWO CRITICAL REMINDERS:
