Our instructor Vas are kicking off an awesome session of dance lessons for Teens with the Institute of Hellenic Dance & Culture and the Pan-Macedonian Lyceum Hellenic Dancers of NSW Inc. Sneak peak into the syllabus and they will be covering some of the major dances from the region of Macedonia! Fantastic news! Dora Stratou was a woman who tried to preserve both folk music/song and dance. She was a well educated woman who dedicated her life to this cause.. of course there have been many to come forward and fault her with her research. This dance may be an example of this.

However, without people like thi… pivotal in their role to preserve, conserve and disseminate… this part of our Hellenic heritage may have been lost.. the women’s dance from Macedonia.
