"I wouldn't be here without PCYC." 👷‍♂️

Christian completed the PCYC Stepping Up program 5 months ago. Now, he’s working in the warehouse industry. The program helped Christian develop his resume and equipped him with interview skills.

“The PCYC team supported me by connecting me with potential employers and securing interviews.”

Long-time volunteer and Head Boxing Coach, Adam Thompson, has dedicated 14 years to supporting young people at PCYC City of Sydney.

After mentoring youth through training, Adam identified an opportunity to introduce boxing as a positive, diversionary pathway for at-risk young people – thus, launching the Woollo boxing program 🥊💥

Since then, the program has transformed countless young lives, won numerous national titles and even led to an opportunity for Adam to coach at the Boxing World Cup alongside his mentee, Marlon Sevehon.

Thank you Adam, and thank you to our entire volunteer network for the difference you make every day 💙

From feeling lost to mentoring young people overseas.

Courtney started with PCYC at 19, volunteering in the Fit for Life program at PCYC Taree while studying youth work. What started as a placement quickly became a passion ⭐

Courtney shared, “It gave me a sense of direction at a time when I felt lost. It helped me realise that I wanted to support young people find their own purpose.”

Courtney was offered a casual role as an Activities Officer, delivering the U-Nites program. In 2022, she moved to Sydney to keep growing as part of our Programs team.

Nearly 8 years on, Courtney recently joined the Indigenous All-Stars America tour as a mentor, “watching the young people take opportunities that many of them never thought possible has been incredibly special.” 🏀

“PCYC has truly supported me to dream big, take risks, and turn those dreams into reality.” 💙

Meet Annie 🤸‍♀️✨

For passionate PCYC Penrith Gymnastics Program Leader Annie, gymnastics has always been about more than just learning skills.

It’s fun, rewarding and forms such a strong foundation for life. It builds strength, balance and coordination, but also confidence, resilience and friendships that can last a lifetime.

That’s exactly why she's chosen gymnastics for her children. It’s a place where kids are active, having fun and building important life skills without even realising it.

Annie hopes gymnastics helps her children grow into a strong, confident people who are never afraid to give things a go 💙

What's your dream? 💭

This NSW Youth Week, we asked our young people, staff and partners what they dreamed of being as kids inspired by this year’s theme: Dream. Dare. Do.⚡

As a youth charity, we’re incredibly proud of every young person we work with. We’ll continue to encourage big dreams and real action – supporting young people to turn their ideas into achievable steps toward the future they imagine 💙
