The Armenian Youth Federation (AYF) was founded in 1933 in the United States. The Armenian Youth Federation of Australia (AYF-AU) was formed in 1978, and today has 3 chapters across Australia, Nigol Touman Chapter (Northern Sydney) being the oldest and largest with over 80 members. AYF Australia strives to enrich its 16-to-26-year-old members' lives on personal, intellectual, cultural and professi
onal levels, encouraging them to become active participants in their communities through leadership, volunteering and giving back to society. The AYF stands on 5 pillars guiding its activities: Educational, Political Advocacy, Social, Cultural and Athletic. It plays a fundamental part in preserving the Armenian culture and advocating for the Armenian Cause. With more than 40 global chapters, AYF brings the Armenian youth together by hosting several social, cultural and educational events for both its members and the wider community. The Nigol Touman chapter has been named after a notable Armenian who devoted himself to the creation of an independent Armenia. AYF Nigol Touman’s meetings are held weekly at the Armenian Cultural Centre in Willoughby. Members come together to learn about their history and culture, engage in interactive discussions, give back and bring members of the community together, advocate, raise awareness about and take action on issues important to the Armenian-Australian community and youth. We welcome new members who would like to join anytime.
