Young Labor Left attends NSW Left Delegates Conference 🌹❤️ Thank you everyone who came along to join the push for more progressive policies for Labor State Conference! We made it clear that we need the Left to take bold stances on issues like Palestine, Workers Comp, AUKUS, democratic University Governance, LGBTQI+ rights, access to Abortion, and more. As we get ready for the State Conference, we will continue working hard to make sure our voices are heard. Solidarity ✊

Comrade Chalmers is at it again…. 🚩🚩🚩

On a more serious note, YLL NSW remains seriously concerned by NDIS cuts which leaves recipients vulnerable and in the dark about the future of their support.👈

Tax changes to capital capitals and trusts are welcome and long overdue but our budget bottomline should be funded not by cuts to critical care but instead by taxes on the extreme wealth of corporations and individuals.💰

STAND UP FIGHT BACK🌹YOUNG LABOR LEFT was proud to stand with the hundreds of Union Members that attended this year’s May Day Rally.

As workers rights continue to come under attack from big business and Government, May Day reminds us that the only way to win is to organise.

🗣️THE LEFT TAKES THE FLOOR 🗣️

At the annual Young Labor vs Young Liberal Debate at NSW Parliament House, Young Labor Left speakers made the case for re-electing Labor governments across Australia.

We took on the Liberal agenda head-on: climate inaction and siding with big polluters, cuts to essential public services, and their ongoing failures on women’s safety, healthcare, and disability rights.

We also put forward a positive vision, because simply being better than the Liberals isn't enough (because to be frank, the bar is on the floor). Labor Governments need to do more regarding investment in public services, improving workers rights, action on climate, and making a fairer society for everyone ✊

Whether it’s in Parliament, on the streets, or in behind the scenes in the Party, Young Labor Left will always organise against the reactionary right 🌹

Huge thank you to everyone who came along to our Young Labor Left New Members Drinks!

It was incredible to see so many new and familiar faces in the room. There were so many people ready to organise, get involved, and fight for a better future. In a time where it’s easy to feel cynical, spaces like this remind us that collective action is alive and well.

A special thanks to our guest speakers Anthony D'Adam and Zeli Munjiza - Labor for Liverpool Council , as well as Cameron Murphy MLC and Charishma Kaliyanda for showing up and showing support for the young left!

If the event showed us anything, it’s that hope is not dead; people want to be a part of a movement for change, and that Young Labor Left is that movement.

See you at the next one ✊

The first International Womens Day was held in 1911, initially titled 'International Working Womens Day'. It came from a recognition of capitalism's role in the patriarchy, and the poor conditions many working women experienced. Today, women’s work continues to be undervalued, whether in the traditional workplace, or at home. With an emboldened and well-organised far-right encroaching upon the hard-earned rights of working women, it’s more important than ever to organise, agitate and build a strong proletarian collective. So, Happy International Working Women's Day!
