The MDA Symposium is a landmark event bringing together leading voices in Australian media to explore the urgent issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion across the industry. Through a dynamic mix of panels, keynote addresses, and interactive workshops, the symposium will confront systemic barriers, amplify underrepresented voices, and foster meaningful change toward a more inclusive media landscape.

This year’s line-up features a powerful roster of journalists, creatives, and thought leaders, including:

Antoinette Lattouf – Award-winning journalist and advocate, co-founder of Ette Media
Jan Fran – Walkley-winning presenter and commentator, co-founder of Ette Media
Antoun Issa – Senior journalist and co-founder of DeepCut News
Nour Haydar – Accomplished political reporter, Host of Full Story Podcast, Guardian
Tanya Denning Orman – Director, First Nations, SBS
Winnie Dunn – Editor, writer, and champion for Pasifika and Western Sydney voices

A keynote address will also be delivered by the Race Discrimination Commissioner, focusing on the media’s role in shaping national conversations around race, representation, and belonging.

Whether you're a journalist, producer, executive, student, or ally, the MDA Symposium is a vital space for reflection, collaboration, and action.

Join us as we challenge the status quo and reimagine the future of Australian media - one where every story matters, and every voice is heard.
