⭐️シドニー三線クラブメンバー、初Cairns遠征⭐️
ケアンズで活動をしているエイサーグループ「アカバナー」のリーダーYukaさんからの招待を受け、9月29日にCairns市で行われたCairns Festivalのオープニングパレードにて、シドニー沖縄県人会の文化部として活動をしているシドニー三線クラブメンバーの数名が遠征に行き、道ジュネーの地謡を務めてきました。
この日のために初心者メンバー達は猛特訓を重ね、伝統エイサーの定番曲である「久高」を暗譜。練り歩きながら三線を弾き歌うという大技に初挑戦しました。オーストラリアでの道ジュネーの再現はシドニーで3回行われていますが、地謡トラックも出動させての道ジュネーは恐らくオーストラリア初！シドニー沖縄県人会ではこの日のために沖縄からクバ笠も仕入れ男性陣に被ってもらったので本場沖縄さながらでみんなカッコイイ✨
また、パレードと同じ日の午前中に行われたMareeba Multicultural Festivalにシドニー三線クラブのMさんが代表で出演。アカバナー代表のYukaさんと西オーストラリアのパースで活動しているエイサーグループ「TIDA」のメンバーさんと共に沖縄芸能を披露し喝采を浴びました。
参加したメンバーはとても素晴らしい体験をすることができました。

At the invitation of Yuka—leader of the Cairns-based Eisa group “Akabana”—several members of the Sydney Sanshin Club (operating under the Cultural Division of the Sydney Okinawan Association) traveled to Cairns. On September 29, they participated in the opening parade of the Cairns Festival, performing as the *Jikata* (traditional musicians) for the *Michijunee*(street parade of Eisa).
For this occasion, the novice members underwent rigorous training and memorized “Kudaka,” a traditional Eisa song. They took on the challenging feat of playing the Sanshin and singing while marching in the procession. While re-enactments of the *Michijunē* have taken place in Sydney three times before, this was likely the first time in Australia that a dedicated *Jikata* (musician) truck was deployed for the event. We even sourced *Kuba-gasa* (traditional palm-leaf hats) from Okinawa for the day, allowing for a truly authentic re-enactment of the *Michijunē*.
Additionally, a representative from the Sydney Sanshin Club, M-san, performed at the Mareeba Multicultural Festival, which took place on the morning of the parade. Together with Yuka (representative of Akabana) and members of “TIDA”—an Eisa group based in Perth, Western Australia—they showcased Okinawan performing arts and received enthusiastic applause.
The participating members had a truly wonderful experience!
