Access to safe water is something many of us take for granted, yet today 1 in 4 people still don’t have it, and more than 2 billion people live without safely managed drinking water. These aren’t just numbers — they’re families, young people, and whole communities navigating daily challenges with extraordinary courage.

At Reledev, this is why our work matters. Safe water is about dignity, health and the chance to rebuild. When communities have reliable access to clean water, they can focus on education, livelihoods, and shaping their own futures. It’s a foundation for resilience and a reminder that development begins with meeting the most basic human needs. 💧💛

Such a beautiful reminder that St Patrick’s Day is more than a celebration — it’s a moment to honour resilience, courage, and the power of rebuilding. We celebrate because St Patrick’s story is one of transformation: a young person taken from his home, who found strength in adversity and eventually built a new sense of purpose and belonging in a land that became home. His journey mirrors the experiences of so many refugees today — navigating displacement, showing extraordinary courage, and rebuilding their lives with dignity and hope.

This is at the heart of DREAM: where the youth are valued and supported as they discover their strengths, find their voice and shape their futures. 🌿💛

This is such a powerful reminder of why DREAM exists.

At the heart of Reledev’s work is a simple but transformative belief: when young people are equipped with confidence, skills, and a sense of their own dignity, they become catalysts for change in their families and communities. DREAM isn’t just a program — it’s a space where potential is nurtured, voices are strengthened, and futures are shaped with purpose.

We’re so proud to walk alongside young people as they discover what they’re capable of. 🌟

Today we’re celebrating the journey of María Cristina Aguilar — an entrepreneur who turned her passion into a thriving, purpose‑driven business through the Conexiones program.

She founded Lluvia de Semillas (“Rain of Seeds”) to bring healthy, innovative pastries to her community. But what makes her story extraordinary is that she didn’t just refine her craft — she gained the tools, confidence, and community to run a professional business.

She learnt organisation, hygiene standards, cost calculation, business planning, and how to use social media to reach new customers. And the results speak for themselves:
• 49% increase in monthly sales
• 57% increase in investment, using her own savings to buy ingredients in larger quantities
• Daily production and sales, with greater consistency and stability

María Cristina’s story shows what happens when women are given the tools, opportunity, and belief to grow. One woman’s progress becomes a ripple effect — strengthening families, communities, and futures.

This is community‑led development.
This is the power of investing in women.

The Bolivia Project · SENDAS & CEFIM Technical Institute

Empowering Indigenous women from peri‑urban and rural communities surrounding La Paz to build skills, confidence, and economic independence.

Through the Conexiones Gastronómicas program, women — 70% of whom are Indigenous — transformed their passion for cooking into a pathway to dignity and opportunity. Many entered with limited prospects; they graduated with professional skills, renewed purpose, and the confidence to lead.

CEFIM’s dual‑education model came alive through the student‑run La Especieria Café, where women learned by doing: managing a real café, serving real customers, and discovering their own leadership potential. Thirty‑two women completed internships, and 19 moved directly into paid work across restaurants, bakeries, and catering businesses — for many, their first steady income and the beginning of lasting economic security.

The Guatemala Project · Junkabal Foundation

Empowering women living near Guatemala’s largest rubbish‑dump community with practical, life‑changing skills.

Through applied training in home‑based care, disability and chronic‑illness support, and hospital assistance, this program opens doors to dignity, opportunity, and sustainable livelihoods.

Our Mission.
Reledev motivates and enables individuals to secure a stable livelihood and contribute to their communities through education, thereby raising themselves, their families, and their communities from poverty and discovering their dignity through work.

We inspire volunteer Australians, especially the youth,
to promote development, educating them in the dignity of the person, the value of work, and a spirit of service.

🌟 DREAM Project Volunteers and Facilitators 🌟

Felicia and Caitlyn have been running the program for the past two and a half years and it’s been a pleasure to see so many volunteers use their time and enthusiasm to give back to the community!

“I really valued the connection I formed with the students through getting to know them each week! You can really see them blossom and open up to their mentors about their dreams and aspirations for their future.”- Caitlyn

📣 Calling all volunteers to help mentor high school students!!

We are looking for university students who are keen to give back to the community and are passionate about their future jobs.

We are aiming to educate young students with refugee backgrounds about the higher education system in Australia and help them realise their full potential!

This is a great opportunity to make new friends and make an impact in a young person’s life 🤗
