🪖CADETS AND CARS! 🏎️

This week, senior cadets from 226 will be apart of a larger NSW Cadet Team who will assist the Supercars team at Bathurst. Cadets will work in designated shifts with tasks including gate marshals and assisting in volunteer work within the Racetrack grounds. When not on shift, they'll be free to watch the Supercars events. There will be behind scene tours for the Cadets to participate in throughout the days, including meeting drivers and teams, and operations rooms. Cadets are given greater access for the Supercars event, providing the Cadets with an experience to see how it is all runs.

🚌DEPARTING FOR DAYS!🏕️

Today 226 ACU leaves from Pymble Multi User Depot for Annual Field Exercise 2026 (AFX)! AFX is a special exercise held yearly for all cadets from recruits to CUO's. It's a unique opportunity for the NSW brigade to meet, compete and learn. 🗓️

Cadets from the unit will spend over 7 days at Lone Pine Barracks Singleton in respective tiers. Many activities during their stay will be held such as a supervised live shoot and an over water obstacle course. Over the several days and nights cadets will face challenges they'll have to adapt to and overcome but in the end they'll come out with a great experience and gained knowledge. 📚🥾

Good luck at AFX 226 ACU! 🐦‍🔥

To conclude for Term 3…

This parade night at Pymble Multi User Depot, Wednesday 23 of September, marked the last parade night for this term. The cadets were required to bring their packs in for inspection to ensure they were properly prepared for the annual field exercise (AFX) camp this Saturday.
The evening focused primarily on final AFX preparations, with lessons covering revision, medical necessities, primary radio skills, and field navigation. These activities were designed to reinforce the knowledge and skills cadets have developed throughout the term.

The night provided cadets with an opportunity to fortify their learning, address any remaining areas of uncertainty, and build confidence ahead of the upcoming AFX activities. Overall, the evening was focused on ensuring cadets were as prepared and confident as possible for the week ahead.

💪🏥 MEDICS ON THE MOVE 🤕

On Wednesday 16th of September at Pymble Multi User Depot, cadets spent the evening practicing vital first aid skills on mock casualties. Their knowledge on first aid was put to test, to see how they would react in a real life situation. Throughout the night, cadets rotated through multiple activities, primarily focusing on building medical awareness. It is to be noted that it was also Physical Training (PT). For the night cadets were assigned into groups and rotated through various activities, revolving around building strength, improving endurance and teamwork.

In addition to this, the cadets participated in relay competitions with objectives such as seeing which group could set up an 11x11 military tent the fastest. The 22 AAC Battalion - Sydney North Adjutant, CUO Kalana Vithanage, personally visited the unit to see firsthand the growth and development of our unit. Throughout the activities, the CUOs and WOs supervised the cadets, providing guidance, support, and advice whenever needed.

🪖 MARCHING AND MILESTONES 🎉

Last Wednesday on the 9th of September 226 ACU had an especially exciting evening at Pymble Multi User Depot, celebrating the birthdays of 3 cadets! The night's special moments didn't end there though, an intense drill competition was held between platoons. Cadet Corporals were challenged to call drill for platoons, the new endeavour proved a challenge at first but they quickly adapted and overcame the obstacle. The Platoons presented the highest levels of drill on Wednesday impressing the command team and 226 ACU as a whole. 🐦‍🔥⭐
