GTA Members are encouraged to vote for three Grain Trade Australia Board Director positions, which are being filled through this year’s election at the GTA Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Tuesday 27 October 2026.

As part of the AGM, financial Members are entitled to vote on each resolution in the election. Members who are unable to attend the AGM can vote by proxy.

GTA’s 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 workshop, held via Zoom on 𝟮𝟬-𝟮𝟭 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿, is the ideal starting point for anyone new to the sector or professionals from related industries looking to build a working understanding of how Australia’s grain industry operates.

This interactive, two-day course offers a 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿, 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 of the key concepts covered in four of GTA’s core workshops, including:

• Understanding Grain Markets

• Grain Merchandising

• Trade Rules & Contracts

• Dispute Resolution & Arbitration.

Participants will gain a 𝗯𝗶𝗿𝗱’𝘀-𝗲𝘆𝗲 𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀, and the foundational knowledge needed to engage confidently with the industry.

Congratulations to long-standing GTA Board Director Michael Wood on receiving a Life Member Award from Grain Industry Association of Victoria.

𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲.
The way grain is assessed, received and stored plays an important role in maintaining quality, meeting market requirements and managing risk across the supply chain.

Grain Trade Australia’s Grain Trading Standards Workshop is coming to 𝗔𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗱𝗲 on 𝟭𝟲-𝟭𝟳 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, offering practical, industry-focused training for classification officers, grain merchants, producers and other industry professionals.

Over two days, participants will develop practical skills and knowledge in:

• Applying Trading Standards for cereals, oilseeds and pulses
• Operating receival sites and storage facilities to industry standards
• Managing weighbridge and documentation processes
• Using equipment and classification techniques correctly and safely

Presented by Gerard McMullen, the workshop is designed to help participants strengthen their understanding of grain standards and apply that knowledge confidently in their day-to-day roles.
