SMPTE Australia Section Based in Australia, we are a chapter of the global Society of Motion Picture & Television Engineers (SMPTE).

The Australia Section serves Australia, New Zealand and A/Pac. SMPTE was founded in the US in 1916, and has been active in Australia since 1984. A professional organisation of members of the radio, television and motion picture industries, focused on the technical and engineering aspects of these media.

Tony Moran, SMPTE Board Member and Regional Sales Director at Grass Valley, is excited to be convening the Cybersecurity section of the METexpo conference. This will include a fantastic line up of both 🌍 international guests and some home-grown experts who will share their past experiences and also thoughts about what lies ahead.
🗣🔒Leading this section of the program will be Ben Haylock, a media-tech leader and cybersecurity expert. Ben will share his insights before leading an all-star panel session including: Mark Zorn, Head of Content Protection and Production Security at Marvel Studios; Adam Marshall, Chief Product Officer at Grass Valley; and Scott Favelle, Technology Director at Seven West Media.

🛡️Together, they will traverse the landscape of cybersecurity, discussing best practices in threat management, how to be secure without compromising operations, how to think about security in technology strategy, and how to secure your supply chain.
