North Bondi Surf Club’s very own Azzuri Felix representing NSW won the Athletics Australia 2026 National Cross Country Championships in Ballarat VIC over the weekend. 🥇✨

Racing in the U13 Girls event, Azzuri overcame the tough wet & muddy course conditions to proudly bring home the gold medal for NSW. 🏃‍♀️

NRL Emergency Services Round with Sydney Roosters honouring Surf Life Saving and all our incredible volunteers. The Nipper March Past team represented North Bondi and Charlie Verco was honoured with a standing ovation after receiving the match ball 🟡🔴

Charle just did it again 🌊 🏆 Smashing his own world record, finishing the brutal 52km Molokai to Oahu Paddleboard in 4:17 — three minutes faster than his previous best, despite cyclone swell and a hammerhead cruising nearby. It’s his fourth straight world title, and he called it the best he’s ever felt crossing a finish line. We are so proud of you Charlie Verco ‼️

We would like to recognise an exceptional act of bravery and selflessness by North Bondi member, Charlie Verco.

On Sunday at Coogee, Charlie performed an extraordinary rescue, coming to the aid of a woman who had been attacked by a shark. In an incredibly dangerous and confronting situation, he acted with remarkable courage, composure, and compassion.

Charlie is an outstanding young man, and we are in awe of both his bravery and his humility. His actions exemplify the very best qualities of our surf lifesaving community and serve as an inspiration to us all.

Our thoughts are with the victim of the attack, and the entire Lifesaving community is wishing her a full and speedy recovery.
