Book Week is a celebration of stories, imagination and the joy of reading. We believe every child deserves access to books and the chance to discover a story they love.

Stories have the power to inspire, connect and open new worlds. No matter who you are or where you come from, there’s a story out there for everyone.

This Book Week, we're inviting Australians to share the joy of reading and help create more literacy opportunities for children who need them most.

A box of new books can open a world of possibilities.
For the students at Flowerdale Public School, the arrival of their new library books was a moment of excitement, curiosity and discovery.

Through our Library Regeneration Program, we provided over 130 brand-new books for the school’s 33 students, helping bring fresh stories and new reading adventures to their library.

As students explored the new collection for the first time, the school shared that each child quickly found a favourite book, and the room fell silent as they became immersed in the pages.

It’s moments like these that show the impact of access to new books: giving children the chance to discover stories that capture their imagination.

Our Programs team member Belinda recently received this beautiful thank-you poster from the students at Dunwich State School in Queensland, celebrating the arrival of their new Library Regeneration books.

Seeing the excitement these books bring to students is exactly why we do what we do. Every new book is an opportunity to discover a new story, spark an imagination and grow a lifelong love of reading.

For two decades, The Westport Club and Dymocks Children’s Charities have worked together to improve literacy outcomes for children across the Port Macquarie region, helping more students access quality books and meaningful reading experiences.

Through the support of Dymocks Children’s Charities’ Book Bank, Library Regeneration and Inspired Readers Festival programs, The Westport Club has helped provide more than 16,860 brand-new books to over 12,800 children, strengthening school libraries, inspiring young readers and creating opportunities for students to connect with stories and authors.

We’re incredibly grateful to The Westport Club for their ongoing commitment to helping local children discover the joy and confidence that comes from reading.

Soon, schools across Australia will celebrate the stories, characters and adventures that make reading so special.

When children find books they love, reading becomes something they want to do.

At Rivervale Primary School, students are discovering new stories, sharing their favourite reads and spending more time in the library thanks to our Library Regeneration Program.

With more than 660 brand-new books added to the collection, the school’s 333 students now have even more opportunities to explore stories that capture their interests and imagination.

The school shared that students have been excited to dive into the new collection, with borrowing increasing and more children choosing to spend their breaks reading together, recommending books to each other and sharing their thoughts on the stories they’ve discovered.
