What can one book do?
📖 Introduce a child to a new idea.
📖 Help them discover a new word.
📖 Take them somewhere they’ve never been.
📖 Help them see the world through someone else’s eyes.
📖 Inspire them to pick up another book tomorrow.

Reading for pleasure is linked to stronger literacy skills, a broader vocabulary, and improved educational outcomes.

But sometimes, the most important thing a book can give a child is something simple: the desire to keep reading

At Thulimbah State School, students in Years 5 and 6 had started to feel like they had read everything the library had to offer. With a limited range and a small school budget, there simply wasn’t much opportunity to replenish the collection.

That changed with our Library Regeneration Program.

The school now has 137 brand-new books for just 20 students, bringing fresh stories, new interests, and plenty of opportunities to discover something they haven’t read before.

And the difference is already being seen.
Students are eagerly sharing books, talking about what they’re reading and, most importantly, showing a renewed interest in borrowing and reading.

Sometimes, giving children more books really does give them more reasons to read.

📖 “Can I read ahead?” - That’s the kind of question we love hearing.

At Millers Forest Public School, students have been making the most of 326 brand-new books delivered through our Library Regeneration Program, and one book in particular has sparked plenty of excitement.

After reading Wonder in class, students were thrilled to discover their own copies in the library. They could borrow the book for themselves and, much to their teacher’s amusement, read ahead!

But it’s not just one book making a difference.

With just 64 students at the school, the new collection has opened up more choice and encouraged students to regularly borrow from the library. They’re choosing books for quiet reading at school, taking others home, and becoming more engaged in library lessons.

For students at East Kenwick Primary School in WA, some of the most exciting new additions to their classrooms weren’t just the storybooks, they were the brand-new dictionaries and thesauruses.

Through our Library Regeneration Program, we provided the school with more than 430 brand-new books, replacing well-loved resources that had become worn and, in some cases, were missing covers.

Students were so excited to carry their classroom’s share back to their rooms carefully, and they’re already making the most of their new books.

“They are treating our new ones so carefully; no doubt they will be in our classrooms for many years.”

That’s exactly what we hope for, giving students access to quality, brand-new books and resources that can support their learning for years to come.

Every child deserves a school library filled with books they’re excited to read.

Through our Library Boost Project, we’re helping schools refresh and rebuild their libraries with brand-new books, creating welcoming spaces where children can discover new stories, follow their interests and find a book that feels like it was made for them.

For some schools, a library boost can mean hundreds of new books and a whole new reason to pick up a book.

At Strathmerton Primary School, 73 students have welcomed more than 400 brand-new books into their classrooms, and they’re already making a difference.

Teachers have noticed students who were once less interested in reading are now reaching for books with growing confidence and curiosity. And at home, families are hearing all about favourite characters, new ideas and the stories their children have discovered.

It’s wonderful to see a wider, more contemporary range of books helping create a reading culture that reaches beyond the classroom and into the home and wider school community.
