One Door Mental Health regrets to advise that the Western Sydney Recovery College will close at the end of June 2026.

For the past decade, we have proudly delivered the Western Sydney Recovery College with funding support from the Western Sydney Primary Health Network. We have recently been advised that, due to funding constraints, this service will cease at the end of the current financial year.

The Western Sydney Recovery College has played an important role in the mental health ecosystem by providing recovery-oriented education and services to people in Parramatta, Auburn, Blacktown, Mount Druitt, as well as to many others online across New South Wales. The College offers an innovative and well-established model that supports people in their mental health recovery through inclusive, community-based learning.

We’re incredibly proud of the program and the life-changing difference it has made over a number of years.

We know this news will be difficult for many in our community. One Door and our dedicated staff will continue to support community members, as well as their families, carers and supporters, throughout New South Wales. For support, to find alternate courses or to find your nearest service, call 1800 843 539 or visit www.onedoor.org.au.

On National Sorry Day, Mind Australia and One Door Mental Health Health acknowledge the strength, resilience and enduring cultures of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, and remember the Stolen Generations.

Held each year on 26 May, National Sorry Day marks the anniversary of the 1997 Bringing Them Home report and acknowledges the forced removal of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children from their families, communities and cultures.

As a community mental health organisation, we recognise that this history has caused – and continues to cause – intergenerational trauma for many First Nations peoples and communities.

Mind and One Door are committed to listening, learning and supporting healing through culturally safe, respectful and inclusive care. By embracing the cultures, knowledge and wisdom of First Nations peoples, we hope to contribute to a mental health sector where safety, equity and self-determination are realised for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.

The National Mental Health Consumer Alliance (NMHCA) is inviting service users, including carers, to participate in a survey to understand whether the current agreement has delivered safe, effective, available mental health services and supports.

The survey takes around 20 minutes to complete. Click below to have your say ⬇
