Salaam everyone,
We’re aware that for a couple years now, there has been some inactivity in this group. Of course, a large reason was the pandemic and the ensuing lockdowns which disrupted our organising and getting together. Since we were newly established at the time, our organisation structure had trouble picking back up where we left off, as you have probably noticed. We apologise for the inactivity and in the near future, we will be working on revitalising this organisation and getting the community events running again.
Until then, there are a couple of Sudanese organisations that are actively running or will be running community events and are connecting Sudanese people. We suggest you follow and support them.
Shabab Al Sudan
This organisation is a Sydney based collective of diasporic youth with a mission of realising the revolutionary demands of the Sudanese people and connecting the diaspora in so-called Australia. They often collaborate with other grassroots organisations that host fundraisers, poetry and film nights - which provide material support to those impacted by the war in Sudan and connect community.

SAHWA
SAHWA’s goal is to empower the Sudanese people by connecting us via community events as well as providing resources to support our physical and mental wellbeing. For the youth, they host specific social events as well as resources such as career advisors, tutoring etc. They recently ran an event similar to ‘Sudan Day’ that you may be familiar with from a few years ago, which use to run at Seven Hills High School in a festival format.
