With today wrapping up our final day of Holiday Camps in the HIVE, we wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to everyone who came along! ✨

Our Hornets Academy coaches always love putting on a show, and seeing so much energy, hard work, and smiling faces on the court has been incredible.

We hope all our campers had an absolute blast developing their skills and making new friends. Enjoy a well-deserved rest, and we can’t wait to see you back on the court next time!

HUGE NATIONALS FOR OUR HORNETS OFFICIALS

A massive congratulations to our Hills Hornets officials who wrapped up a sensational week at the 2026 Foot Locker U14 Club Championships in Willetton, WA! 🐝🏀

Representing on the national stage is an enormous achievement in itself, and our team did the association proud with their dedication, hard work, and performances all tournament long.

Special congratulations to our officials who earned well-deserved appointments to medal games:

🥇 Kelsey Ortiz | Referee Coach, Boys Championship Gold Medal Game

🥉 Holly Powell | Crew Chief, Boys Championship Bronze Medal Game

🥉 Daniel Robinson | Umpire, Girls Shield Bronze Medal Game

Shoutout also to Joshua Elsom for putting in a tremendous shift on court throughout the championships and representing with distinction.

We also want to send a big shoutout to Alexander Palmer, who was selected for the tournament but unfortunately had to withdraw prior to the event due to injury.

Thank you to all our officials for flying the Hornets flag high on the national stage!

FOOT LOCKER U14 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS | NSW OFFICIALS

After a massive week of competition at the 2026 Foot Locker U14 Club Championships in Willetton, Western Australia, Basketball NSW is proud to recognise four NSW officials who have earned appointments to today’s medal games.

Congratulations to:
🔹 Boys Championship Gold Medal Game (Referee Coach) – Kelsey Ortiz (Hills Hornets Basketball Association)
🔹 Boys Championship Bronze Medal Game (Crew Chief) – Holly Powell (Hills Hornets Basketball Association)
🔹 Boys Shield Bronze Medal Game (Umpire) – Lachlan Francis (Manly Warringah Basketball Association)
🔹 Girls Shield Bronze Medal Game (Umpire) – Daniel Robinson (Hills Hornets Basketball Association)

These appointments are a fantastic recognition of their performances throughout the week and their contribution to officiating on the national stage.

We also congratulate our NSW referees who have completed their Championships after a great week in the West – Bailey Baxter (Penrith Basketball Association), Andrew Dodds (Basketball Illawarra), Joshua Elsom (Hornsby Ku-Ring-Gai Spiders Basketball), Lilly Hogan (Norths Basketball), Maya Horgan (Newcastle Falcons) & Natasha Karam (Bankstown Bruins).

VENUES CLOSED | PUBLIC HOLIDAY

On Monday 5 October, all Hills Basketball venues will be closed due to the public holiday. This includes Hills Basketball Stadium, Bernie Mullane Sports Complex and Dural Recreation Centre.

Hills Basketball Stadium will be closed from Sat 3 - Mon 5 October (inclusive). Bernie Mullane Sports Complex will close at 5pm on Sat 3 & Sun 4 October.

We will operate as normal from Tuesday 7 October. Bookings can be made online.

Congratulations to the following athletes who have been selected in the State Performance Program (SPP) for 2026-2027.

The program exists to assist in identifying, developing, and preparing athletes in the Under 16, Under 18 & Junior Wheelchair age groups to represent New South Wales at the Footlocker National Championships.

SPP will commence with an Induction Camp on 9th-11th of October 2026 for all athletes at Hills Basketball Stadium, before the morning weekly workouts commence in term 4.

BNSW will be in contact with you in the coming weeks with all details regarding the program.
