Australian Freediving Association

Australian Freediving Association AFA is a not for profit organisation dedicated to the sport of freediving and is Australia's official AIDA representive.

The International Association for the Development of Apnea (AIDA) is the worldwide federation for breath hold diving. The AFA is responsible for sanctioning all competitive freediving within Australia and recognition of all Australian National Records. We promote recreational an...d competitive freediving, ratify records, maintain Australian rankings and work towards the promotion and growth of fr

eediving in Australia. We are also responsible for team selection in freediving world championships. The AFA’s mission is to develop and support safe freediving in Australia. Remember that you should never dive without a competent buddy with you at all times, and you should always be a competent buddy. Freediving is a fun and easy sport to participate in, no matter what your age or skill level. It promotes increased lung capacity, better breathing, deeper levels of awareness and control over your body. To become a part of the AFA please visit our member page. We are working hard to provide you with more benefits every day.
