Advocacy. Standards. Workforce. Member leadership.

This week we supported procurement reform, small business advocacy, licensing pathways, committee work and future planning for the 2027 Trans Tasman conference in Fiji.

We also held the inaugural Women in Surveying Committee meeting and continued work across ethics, CPD and engineering surveying.

Thank you to all members who have renewed.

A quieter week, but an important one for Surveyors Australia.

Behind the scenes, the work continued across advocacy, workforce pathways, member services and industry connection.

This week we:

• Finalised our national AMR submission (see latest news on our website)
• Continued advocacy through and on proposed tax changes
• Attended the Conference
• Met with MP to thank her for adding surveying to the Skills Assure program
• Progressed work towards surveying training for Year 11 students from 2027
• Connected with the QLD Department of Education on Surveying Unleashed, with more than 65 students and teachers registered
• Prepared member guidance on the 2026 Annual Wage Review
• Continued engagement with SBQ, Titles Queensland and Emesent
• Sent membership renewals to members across Australia

Strong professions are built through steady work, practical advocacy and clear pathways for the future.

That is what Surveyors Australia is focused on.

A big week of action for Surveyors Australia.

Advocacy. Standards. Workforce. Education. CPD. International engagement.

This week we continued advocacy on proposed tax and budget changes, progressed work on mutual recognition and the Surveying Award review, attended a Jobs and Skills Australia roundtable on lifelong learning, and advanced clearer pathways for overseas qualified practitioners.

We were also confirmed by the Surveyors Registration Board of Victoria as an accredited training provider able to allocate and advertise Victorian CPD points.

Internationally, Surveyors Australia represented Australia at FIG Congress in Cape Town, contributing to conversations on AI, professional practice, cadastral digitisation, women’s land rights and young surveyors.

Congratulations to Ezra Miller from NSW, who was recognised as a Foundation winner through the Young Surveyors Network.

This is what momentum looks like.

A connected profession. A national voice. Practical action.

A big week for Surveyors Australia.

From seminars in Launceston and Hobart, to a meeting with the Tasmanian Surveyor General, a cyber security webinar, Board planning, EISSI Awards nominations, CPD system updates, AMR submission work and national advocacy through ACCI and COSBOA, there has been plenty happening behind the scenes and out in the profession.

We also celebrated two years since ITA became an RTO, supporting practical, industry led training for the future surveying workforce.

And the week finishes with Surveyors Australia joining the Australian contingent at FIG Congress in Cape Town.

Local connection. National advocacy. Workforce leadership. Global engagement.

That is how we build a stronger profession.

Follow along for updates from Cape Town.

Happy 50th Anniversary 🎉

Celebrating on the 89th Level a building designed to acknowledge the work of Surveyors we were told by Alan Norman who surveyed it! Overlooking the amazing skyline of Melbourne and the many buildings and infrastructure that would be possible without Surveyors!

Stories from Past Presidents who shared of advocacy and unity and battles won to ensure surveying continues to be recognised and regarded as one of the most critical roles for Victoria.

Always great to see the strong support from Bull as Parliamentary Secretary for Transport

Pictured: Michael Degg, Brendan Munari & - congratulations to James Fitzpatrick for bringing everyone together for an amazing celebration… And cake!! 🎂
