Bye-bye Plastic HELLO BYO
It is an unavoidable fact that we are officially drowning in plastic. Single- use plastic items are used on average for 10 minutes or less before being discarded in the bin or worse escaping into the environment where they often end up downstream in the ocean. It’s time to turn the tide and say BYE-BYE PLASTIC HELLO BYO!
BYE-BYE PLASTIC HELLO BYO is a Sydney based campaign to reduce the amount of Single-use and Zero-Use Plastic items such as plastic bags, plastic bottles, plastic-lined disposable coffee cups, plastic straws, cutlery and take-away food containers that are handed out by local businesses to their shoppers. It also encourages shoppers to HELLO BYO and remember to take reusable bags, bottles, cups and cutlery to reduce the need for these single use items.
Bye Bye Plastic is an initiative of the Better Business Partnership, a program funded by four Sydney local Councils (Ku-ring-gai, North Sydney and Willoughby City) to promote sustainability in business. Learn more at www.byebyeplastic.com.au
