IT'S NOW THE LAW. IS YOUR TEAM READY?

Children's rights, safety, welfare and best interests must be the paramount consideration in every decision and action.

This isn't just guidance.
It's now the law in NSW and it applies to everyone working in OOSH.

HAVE YOUR TEAM MEMBERS ATTENDING THIS TRAINING?

Your educators are making decisions about children every single day.

But do they understand what the Paramountcy Principle actually means for their role?

Can they recognise when children's best interests may be competing with:

operational pressures
staffing challenges
convenience
risk management
family expectations
organisational interests
established routines and practices?
And, most importantly...

DO THEY KNOW WHAT THEY NEED TO DO WHEN THOSE INTERESTS COLLIDE?

Did You Know? Quality Area 2 is Often Where Services Can Fall Short?

Wed, 12 Aug, 10am - 11am AEST

Health and safety is more than policies, procedures, reports, and checklists—it’s about what happens every day in your OOSH service.

During spot visits and Assessment & Rating, Quality Area 2 is an area where many services are challenged to demonstrate how their systems are embedded into practice.

Join our practical webinar to explore how to:
✨ Strengthen your health and safety systems
✨ Use reporting and checklists to drive improvement
✨ Move beyond compliance and build confidence in your practice
✨ Be better prepared for regulatory expectations

Because great health and safety isn’t just about what’s written down—it’s about what is consistently demonstrated.

📅 Register now and strengthen your Quality Area 2 practice.

The Celebration Was Huge… Now Let’s Keep the Momentum Going!

As this week draws to a close, I want to take a moment to say thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy day on Wednesday to recognise and celebrate an Out-of-School Educator.

To everyone working within the sector who stopped to say thank you, shared a message, celebrated a colleague or acknowledged the incredible work happening every day in our sector thank you.

And to all the families, schools, community members and stakeholders who joined in and showed their appreciation than-you your support means so much.

These moments of recognition remind educators that the work they do matters and that their contribution is seen and valued.

OOSH Educators Day 2026 was our biggest celebration yet!

Behind every great OOSH experience are passionate educators who create safe spaces, build relationships, encourage curiosity, support children’s wellbeing and make a difference in the lives of children and families every single day.

The celebrations may be over for another year, but the appreciation should never stop.

And now… the countdown begins.

363 days until we celebrate OOSH Educators Day again! 💙

What a beautiful example of genuine partnership.

WEMOOSH shared this heartfelt letter today from the Principal of Mayfield East Public School Andrea Webster, recognising and celebrating their OOSH educators.

This is what true partnership looks like, where every educator on the school site is valued, respected and acknowledged for the important role they play in the lives of children and families.

Congratulations to the Principal and the WEMOOSH team for demonstrating what is possible when schools and OOSH services work together with a shared commitment to children.

Let's hope this inspiring example encourages more schools to recognise and celebrate their OOSH educators, not just on OOSH Educators Day, but every day.

Together, we can continue to build stronger partnerships and the recognition our sector deserves.
