Hello ICPS member!

We would like to extend our warmest welcome to our newest members who enjoyed the Carnivorous & Exotic Plant Symposium & Expo in Kernersville, NC. This email is sent four times a year announcing the most recent issue of Carnivorous Plant Newsletter.

The June 2026 issue of CPN shipped on 8 May 2026. The PDF of the issue is available
on our https://icps.clubexpress.com/ membership website.

Contents of Volume 55 Number 2, June 2026

• ICPS Conference 2026 Leiden — Felix Bokhorst
• ICPS welcomes new alternate board member Ashley Davis — Kenny Coogan
• Carnivores in the Classroom: Growing curiosity, community, and conservation — Kenny Coogan
• A significant range extension for Utricularia capilliflora F.Muell. — Glen Moss and Richard Nunn
• Longitudinal allometry of inferior lamina substructures in Sarracenia (Sarraceniaceae) — C. A. Trexler
• Splitting Sarracenia alabamensis subsp. wherryi (D.E. Schnell) Case & R.B. Case 2005 into two new species (Sarraceniaceae) — C. A. Trexler
• Refining form and stability: A decade of selective breeding in Nepenthes veitchii — Chiem Nguyen Anh Vu
• New cultivars — Chiem Nguyen Anh Vu and Y. Chen and Václav Lenk and Yan-Min Ma and Alexander Fisch and Juan Camilo Páez Jiménez

Each issue of CPN usually has a mix of announcements, general interest articles, cultivar descriptions, and scientific papers. In this issue we are delighted to have a study and species descriptions finally documenting the previously unresolved status of Sarracenia wherryi. This paper is a great example of science in action. The other articles highlight our education program to place carnivorous plants in classrooms, exploring remote locations to document the plants present, a way to determine taxonomic differences, and what it takes to develop and announce interesting cultivars.
