What a proud moment for Mudgin-Gal! ❤️💛🖤
What an incredible honour to attend the SONARR Awards awards and see Mudgin-Gal Yarns recognised as a finalist in the Impact Category for the Innovation Award!
A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful Board and staff for their ongoing commitment and support, with a very special mention to Jane Curtis from Impact Story and Jane Wangmann from UTS, whose dedication and belief in this project helped bring these important stories to life.
But for me, the real winners are the 17 incredible Aboriginal women who trusted us enough to sit in our yarning circles, open their hearts and share their stories, challenges, hopes and dreams.
These women shared their experiences in the hope that someone would listen, that their voices would be heard, and that their stories might help create change.
And being recognised as a finalist in such a prestigious award proves that our voices ARE being heard!
To our 17 women, this recognition belongs to you. Your courage, honesty and strength are what made Mudgin-Gal Yarns possible.
We may not have taken home the award, but we walked away knowing that our women’s voices are reaching people, creating conversations and making an impact. And that is something worth celebrating!
