🇦🇺 ECSCC Volunteers’ Special Visit to Parliament House — 11 August 2026
What an unforgettable and meaningful day for our ECSCC volunteers! 🇦🇺❤️
On 11 August 2026, volunteers from the Eastwood Chinese Senior Citizens Club (ECSCC) had the wonderful opportunity to visit the Australian Parliament House in Canberra.
We were honoured to meet Senator the Hon. Penny Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Dr Anne Aly MP, Minister for Multicultural Affairs, and to gain a better understanding of Australia’s democratic system and the important work of our Parliament.
A very special thank you to Jerome Laxale MP for hosting us and helping organise such a memorable and meaningful day. Your support, generosity and warm hospitality made this visit truly special for our volunteers. 🙏
One of the most touching highlights of the day was the presentation of Volunteer Appreciation Certificates to our ECSCC volunteers. Each certificate was signed by the Prime Minister, the Hon. Anthony Albanese MP, and Jerome Laxale MP. 🇦🇺🏅
Our volunteers were absolutely over the moon to receive this special memento. For many, it will be a treasured keepsake and a wonderful reminder of their years of volunteering and contribution to our community. ❤️
During the Parliament House tour and Question Time, our volunteers gained a deeper understanding of Australian democracy, the role of the Parliament, and how our elected representatives serve the community. It was not only a wonderful day out, but also a valuable and inspiring learning experience.
We are incredibly proud of our ECSCC volunteers. Their dedication, generosity and community spirit continue to make a real difference to our community.

🇦🇺 ECSCC 義工國會大廈特別之旅 — 2026年8月11日
這是一個令我們 ECSCC 義工難忘而又充滿意義的一天！🇦🇺❤️
2026年8月11日，依士活高齡華人友誼會（ECSCC） 一眾義工有幸前往坎培拉的 澳洲國會大廈（Australian Parliament House）參觀。
當天，我們非常榮幸能夠與 黃英賢參議員（Senator the Hon. Penny Wong）澳洲外交部長，及 Anne Aly 博士（Dr Anne Aly MP）多元文化事務部長 ，見面，並藉此機會更加深入了解澳洲的民主制度，以及國會的運作和工作。
特別感謝 Jerome Laxale MP 親自接待我們，並協助安排這次難忘而有意義的旅程。您的支持、熱情款待及悉心安排，令這次國會之旅更加特別。🙏
當天最令人感動的時刻之一，就是我們的 ECSCC 義工獲頒 「義工感謝證書」。每一張證書都由 澳洲總理 Anthony Albanese MP 及 Jerome Laxale MP 親筆簽署。🇦🇺🏅
我們的義工收到這份特別的紀念證書時，真的開心不已！ ❤️
對很多義工而言，這不僅是一張證書，更是一份珍貴的紀念品，記錄著他們多年來無私服務社區、貢獻社會的心血與付出。
在 國會大廈導賞及 Question Time（議會質詢時間） 中，我們的義工對澳洲民主制度、國會的角色，以及民選議員如何服務社區有了更深入的認識。
這不只是一次愉快的 Canberra 之旅，更是一個非常寶貴、充滿啟發性的學習經驗。
我們為所有 ECSCC 義工感到無比自豪！

It was wonderful to come together to embrace the golden era of Cantonese pop songs, cherish our cultural heritage, and share joy, music, and friendship across generations.
