Some stories are painful.
Some stories must be told.

Proud to be helping preserve testimonies connected to the Bondi tragedy. Listening and recording these experiences is not always easy but giving voice to them is an important step towards remembrance, healing, and a healthier, more compassionate Australia.

It was a true privilege to record and preserve the story of Nilda Moya - a much-loved member of our community who has brought so much joy, culture, music and connection to generations of Chileans and Latin Americans in Australia. 🇨🇱✨

These stories matter. They are part of the living history of our communities and deserve to be preserved and shared for future generations.

Thank you to Fairfield City Council Library and Heritage Collection for recognising the importance of community oral history projects and helping keep these stories alive.

Honoured to have been invited as a speaker at this year’s 4th Australia and New Zealand Refugee Trauma Recovery in Resettlement Conference, presented by STARTTS and FASSTT.

I spoke about Crossing the Pacific: Chilean Voices in Australia and explored the role of oral history and visual storytelling in preserving memory, identity and human connection.

It was incredibly inspiring to share space with practitioners, researchers, artists and community leaders from across Australia and New Zealand.

Experiences like this remind me why storytelling matters - not only as a way of preserving the past but as a way of creating understanding, dignity and belonging.

This is a short moment from Danny Jeffery’s story — one of many voices who have served, each carrying experiences that shape who we are today.

Harmony Week may have passed, but the stories and traditions we share stay with us.

In this video, two members of our South American community share a traditional recipe—something that carries memory, culture, and connection across generations.

Because celebrating culture isn’t just for one week… it’s something we carry with us every day.

On Saturday we screened Crossing the Pacific – Director’s Cut in Canberra to a beautiful and engaged audience.

Thank you to everyone who came, shared the evening with us, and stayed for the conversation afterwards. These stories of Chilean exile, solidarity, and belonging clearly continue to resonate deeply.

I’m especially grateful to the participants who entrusted me with their memories, and to the community and partners who helped bring this screening together.

Every time this film is shown, the stories find new listeners — and that is exactly why they matter.

More conversations to come.
