Last weekend, our Scout Unit headed away for our June Long Weekend camp. With our usual campsites at Coutts and Cataract currently unavailable, we joined the Greater Western Sydney Region Jamborette at Scheyville (“Skyville”) National Park north west, near Windsor Sydney.

It was a fantastic weekend with perfect weather, bringing together Scouts, Venturers and Leaders from across the region to enjoy a wide range of activities while learning about the history of the park.

A special shout-out to the Cataract Fellowship for their outstanding service and support throughout the weekend. Well done to GWS for a great weekend.

Our Scout Unit travelled into the city this week to experience the Vivid Lights. We travelled by the Sydney Metro for the first time from Waterloo Station to Barangaroo Station - it was very fast. The light displays were fantastic, and the city was buzzing with thousands of people seeing the light installations.

Thank you Councillor Christina Curry for attending our Group ARP.

Great to join Kingsford Smith Scouts
at their Annual Report today. It’s always great to see the energy, teamwork, and resilience our young people build through Scouts.

A huge thank you to Group Leader Elias Hanoun and all the dedicated volunteers who give their time, passion, and leadership to ensure our young people have the chance to experience adventure, grow in confidence, and learn skills that will stay with them for life.

Our Scout Leaders participated in the Foundation Adventurous Skills Weekend at Heathcote Scout Camp over the weekend, gaining skills and qualifications in bushwalking, cycling, and canoeing.

The South Metropolitan Adventurous Activities Team provided excellent guidance throughout the weekend. Our leaders built on their existing knowledge and gained valuable new skills and confidence to support future adventurous activities with our Scouts.

It’s a wrap for the 2026 Clean Up Australia Day.

Planespotting Beach, Mascot once again proved to be a collection point for rubbish washing through from Botany Bay. Our Group had a strong turnout of youth members, parents and community members, with around 30 volunteers dedicating a couple of hours to make a real difference. A fantastic collective effort all round.
