Raising Peace stands with Uncle Ray Minniecon and all those Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who were disrespected by a few small minded people on ANZAC Day.
Ray is a friend to us here at Raising Peace. He has given his time to us on several occasions and we have also engaged him to Acknowledge Country at the start of some of our events.
In 2024 he opened World BEYOND War's annual conference, speaking from our event in Sydney. You can listen to his Acknowledgement at the start of the recording below and admire the compassion and strength behind his words.
Uncle Ray also spoke later in the conference and we have linked to part of his discussion here. As he speaks you can appreciate his love for Australia, his pride in his Indigenous identity, his commitment to peace and his respect for all those who have served to keep it safe.
