Rainbow Babies and Kids (RBK) -founded in 1998, is a grass roots, community based organisation providing social support, advocacy, friendship and networking for GLBTIQ parents/carers; rainbow families; kids of gay, le***an, trans and otherwise rainbow parents and friends. RBK is focused on ensuring that children and young people growing up in GLBTIQ families have access to a supportive peer group
and are surrounded by resilient adults who are connected to community. RBK hosts rainbow kids & family camping events and trips, playgroup, picnics and outings. Camps are held in Kiama each March and November and Umina each May. Rainbow Babies and Kids are represented by and welcome to participate in a family focused Mardi Gras float each festival. This has been one of the many longstanding traditions of the group.
