Palliative Care NSW is proud to be supporting this year's Koori Knockout, one of Australia's largest gatherings of First Nations peoples.

Our Deputy CEO, Megan Asbury and our Community Engagement & Programs Coordinator, Anthony Bui are on the ground at the Gudida Wellbeing Precinct throughout the long weekend, alongside the team from the NSW Ministry of Health. Connecting with community members, sharing information and strengthening relationships that support culturally safe and accessible care.

We are delighted to announce that Nadine Champion will be our 2026 State Conference closing keynote speaker. Nadine is an inspiring speaker, awarded martial artist and author who truly knows what it means to use "10 Seconds of Courage" to overcome obstacles and reach her potential. She is also passionate about palliative care, following several personal experiences in her life that have been positively impacted by the support of palliative care.

Offering practical tools via memorable anecdotes, Nadine passes on the lessons learnt from years of elite performance under immense pressure, working with individuals and organisations to foster their courage, adapt positively to change and develop resilience.

Nadine is excited to be closing our 2026 State Conference. This is going to be an energetic, dynamic and uplifting presentation. The perfect way to conclude our conference and to leave equipped with some new tools, as we look to the future and how we can positively shape it together.

With almost 500,000 Australians currently living with dementia and more than 1.7 million people involved in their care, open conversations are essential to reducing stigma, improving understanding, and connecting people with the support they need.
