Fishing gives us space to slow down.
To get away from the noise.
To sit side by side.
To have the kinds of conversations that don’t always happen anywhere else.

That’s why Top Blokes has partnered with for the Reel Talk Fishing Challenge - helping everyone connect on the water this month, while raising funds to support young men who need it most.

As Harry from Daiwa Australia says:
“Fishing has always been a way to bring people together. We’re proud to support Reel Talk and help more people get outdoors, connect with their mates and start conversations that matter.”

Sign up, start fundraising, and we’ll send you a Reel Talk welcome pack with Daiwa BaitJunkie Soft Plastics and conversation cards to take with you on the water.

Grab a mate. Go fishing. Start a real conversation.

“You don’t have to have all the answers. Sometimes just being there for a mate is enough.”

That’s the message from Top Blokes ambassador Kieran Foran as he gets behind our latest campaign, Reel Talk.

Kieran knows how important it is for men and boys to have space to talk - and how powerful it can be when we simply show up for each other.

He’s had a massive few weeks stepping into his role as interim head coach at but even with everything going on, he’s still making time for Top Blokes and a cause he genuinely cares about.

This June, we’re encouraging everyone to grab a mate, go fishing and help raise funds to support young men’s mental health.

There’s a national conversation happening about education. And young men need to be part of it.

Top Blokes Foundation has been invited to prepare a submission to the Federal inquiry into the factors driving educational attainment.

It sounds formal. And yes, it is. But really, this inquiry is asking questions we hear all the time in our work.

Why do some boys start to switch off from school?
What helps them stay connected?
Who do they go to when things get hard?
What happens during those messy transition years, when boys are trying to figure out who they are, where they fit, and what their future might look like?
And how much do mental health, behaviour, belonging and confidence shape a young man’s experience of education?

We don’t think this conversation should happen without young men. And it shouldn’t happen without the teachers, parents, carers and youth workers who are in their lives every day.

That’s why we’ll be contributing what we see on the ground.
From mentoring sessions.
From conversations with schools and families.
From the moments where boys start to open up about what is really going on for them.

We’re proud to contribute to this inquiry. Because young men’s voices belong in the national conversation

How can we ask boys to lead by example…
if we’re not willing to do the same?

That was the challenge our Regional Coordinator, Matt, put to the room at the Toowoomba Men’s Forum.

Because if we want the next generation of young men to be better - more respectful, more open, more accountable - then we have to be willing to look at ourselves first.

Not perfectly. But honestly.

In partnership with Toowoomba Together Inc., Matt invited 60 men in the room to open up. To feel safe enough to be vulnerable. To talk about the kind of change they want to see in their community - and the role they’re willing to play in making it happen.

And that’s what stood out. The awareness. The boldness. The willingness to stand up and do something about domestic and family violence.

“Change doesn’t start with young men alone. It starts with the men around them being willing to reflect, speak up and lead differently.” Matt

Through a series of activities and conversations, Matt helped create space for men to reflect, connect and challenge each other — not from a place of shame, but from a place of responsibility. Powerful to witness and amazing to be part of. Thank you all for your trust and willingness to share.

“Being a man means whatever you want it to mean.”

That’s what one young fella told us after going through Top Blokes.

We asked more than 3,000 boys one simple question: What is the biggest lesson you took away from Top Blokes?

Young men spoke about thinking before they act, managing emotions, becoming better friends, asking for help, redefining what it means to be a man.

These aren’t just lessons from a workshop. They’re the result of safe spaces, strong mentors, and honest conversations built over time.

We’ve seen these kinds of changes in more than 25,000 boys and we know real growth doesn’t happen overnight.

Because when boys feel safe enough to open up, that’s when the real shift happens.

We stood alongside Minister to announce Top Blokes as the 50th program funded through the Queensland Government’s Kickstarter initiative - a huge moment that will see us expand across Brisbane and the Gold Coast and reach even more young men early, when it matters most.

Our mentors and team on the ground are showing up every week - creating space for real conversations and backing young men to step up for themselves and their mates.

Because at Top Blokes, we’ve always believed young men aren’t the problem - they’re a big part of the solution.

When you back them early with the right support, you start to see that ripple effect - in their confidence, their choices, and the way they show up for the people around them.

Big moment out in Amberley.

Last week, our Workplace Program wrapped with an incredible group of young men stepping up to be better mates, better leaders, and better blokes.

“This was the first group we’ve had where most (if not all) asked to be part of the Top Blokes program. That came off the back of last year’s participants proudly sharing their experience and encouraging others to get involved. You can feel the culture starting to shift… blokes looking out for each other in the workplace, stepping up as mentors and making sure it doesn’t stop when the program ends.” - Matt, Regional Coordinator

That’s what it’s all about. Proud of this crew and the standard they’re setting.

We’re proud to be getting behind the On Your Terms survey - a national survey by asking 14-18 year olds what consent, relationships, and s*x ed are actually like today.

Consent education in Australia is evolving, but it only works if young people are the ones driving it. We need real world insights to shape future policy so it actually makes sense for the people who use it, rather than just guessing from the sidelines.

The more voices we get in the mix, the better the outcome for everyone.

How you can help:
💬 If you’re a parent, teacher, or coach: Send this to the young people in your life.
📝 If you’re 14–18: This is your space. It’s 100% anonymous, takes about 10 minutes.

Head to and help us drive the change.
