UIA Multicultural Cup 2026 Celebrates Diversity and Community Spirit in Sydney

Sydney, NSW – 18 April 2026: The United Indian Associations (UIA) proudly announces the successful completion of the UIA Multicultural Cup 2026, held at Bankstown Oval, Sydney. The event brought together participants and spectators from diverse cultural backgrounds, celebrating unity, inclusion, and the spirit of cricket.
The Multicultural Cup has become a flagship community event, fostering harmony and engagement among multicultural communities across New South Wales. This year’s tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation, vibrant cultural exchange, and strong community support.

UIA extends its sincere appreciation to the NSW Government for its continued support in promoting multicultural initiatives. Special thanks are extended to the Honourable Steve Kamper, Minister for Multiculturalism, for his ongoing commitment to strengthening community cohesion and supporting events that celebrate diversity.

The success of the event was made possible through the tireless efforts of UIA’s General Committee (GC) and Executive Committee (EC) members, whose leadership and coordination ensured seamless ex*****on. UIA also acknowledges the invaluable contributions of community leaders, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who played a vital role in delivering a memorable event.

The UIA Multicultural Cup continues to serve as an important platform for building friendships, promoting inclusivity, and reinforcing the shared values that unite Australia’s multicultural society.

After an unlucky 2-1 defeat to Vietnam, Team India has one remaining Perth Qualifying match in the AFC Women’s Asian Cup and another in Sydney.

India v Japan, 7pm (AWST), Sat March 7, 2026, Perth Rectangular Stadium, 310 Pier St, Perth
India vs Chinese Taipei 8pm (AEST), 10 March Western Sydney Stadium, 11-13 O'Connell St, Parramatta
Free public transport is included in the cost of the tickets which start at $10 for kids and $20 for adults. Get your tickets here.

The AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 features the 12 best women’s teams in Asia competing in 27 matches in Sydney, Perth and the Gold Coast.

This tournament is important as the top 6 teams automatically qualify for the FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil in 2027.

A Heartfelt Thank You – UIA Australia Day & Indian Republic Day 2026

On behalf of the United Indian Association (UIA), I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the UIA Australia Day and Indian Republic Day 2026 celebrations a truly memorable and successful event.

Our sincere thanks to the City of Parramatta Mayor, Cr Martin Zaiter, for his continued leadership, encouragement, and unwavering support of multicultural communities. We are also deeply grateful to our elected representatives — Parramatta MP Andrew Charlton, Granville MP Julia Finn, and Parramatta MP Donna Davis — for standing with our community and recognising the strength and contribution of the Indian diaspora.

We respectfully acknowledge the support of the Hon Steve Kamper, Minister for Multiculturalism, and extend our appreciation to his representative Mark Buggitieg for joining us and reinforcing the importance of unity, diversity, and inclusion in our society.

A very special and heartfelt thank you to Dr. Dinesh Palipana OAM for inspiring and motivating all of us with his powerful and moving keynote address. By sharing his extraordinary life journey, resilience, and unwavering determination, Dr. Palipana left a lasting impact on everyone present. His speech concluded with a well-deserved standing ovation, reflecting the profound inspiration he instilled in our community.

We would also like to give special recognition to UIA’s Legal Advisor, Mr Mohan Sundar, Principal Solicitor at SUN Legal, for his valuable collaboration with UIA and for leading the Connect with Community Program, strengthening engagement and support across our community.

Our sincere thanks to Ajayji and the team at The Grand Royale for their generosity and professionalism in providing an excellent venue for this celebration. We also extend our appreciation to Suresh for delivering a seamless and high-quality audio system, ensuring the event ran smoothly, and to Ajayji for beautifully capturing the evening through his photography.

A special mention and big thank you to Miss Annika, who conducted and managed the entire event with exceptional professionalism, grace, and elegance. Her confident presentation, attention to detail, and seamless coordination played a key role in the overall success of the celebration.

A heartfelt thank you to all community leaders, GC members, and EC members whose dedication, time, and teamwork ensured the success of this event. Your commitment continues to strengthen UIA’s vision of bringing communities together through culture, service, and shared values.

We also extend our big congratulations to our outstanding HSC students and their proud parents. Your hard work, perseverance, and exceptional achievements are an inspiration to the entire community. We celebrate not just your high scores, but the bright future you represent.

Events like these remind us of the power of unity, respect, and cultural harmony. Thank you once again to everyone who supported and participated in making this celebration a grand success. Special Thanks to Malabar Gold Sydney for collaborating with us.
