What a wonderful morning at Green Square Public School!

Audrey O’Connor and Alison Maunder joined DSNSW members Mili and the Valencia-Mittru family for a special school assembly celebrating inclusion, community and student talent.

Audrey spoke to students about inclusion and her own experiences, and we were also incredibly grateful to receive a generous donation raised by the school community through their Joy Day celebrations.

A beautiful example of what inclusion can look like when students, families, educators and community work together. 💛

Our Newcastle and Central Coast New Babies Day featured a wonderful session with Music Therapist, Ria Shekhawat from Spark Music, who shared the benefits of the therapeutic use of music for children with Down syndrome and their families. Through an engaging and interactive presentation, families experienced firsthand how music can support communication, development, and learning.

Special thanks to Kate Green for organising this New Babies Day event. We're also very grateful to The Entrance Community Centre (the Benevolent Society) for providing the space for us to host this event and utilise the wonderful interactive toys.
