UTS Karate-do Club We train in traditional Japanese karate-do and modern sports karate. We are taught by AKF coaches - If you've learnt karate-do before - GREAT!

We are the newest UTS Sports Club teaching one of the oldest martial arts! We specialise in traditional karate-do and also modern sports non-contact, competitive karate. Our training has 3 focus areas - basics & kata (meditative pattern of forms), self-defence and kumite (sparring). Our view is that everyone should train hard - but safely - and our teachers are all government accredited coaches. T

his means you'll learn bad-ass moves but in a safe environment, and our affiliated teachers have had no short or long term injuries in over 15 years. you are very welcome to come and train in your own style with us! Our teachers have learnt a wide variety of styles and martial arts and can accommodate your needs. Joining our club means you are also a member of the Australian Karate Federation allowing you to compete in State, National, International and possibly even World / Olympic (2020) level in karate-do! Our teachers have taught students that have gone on to win International, National competitions and place in top 10 at World championships! We take regular trips to Japan for training (that members will be welcome to attend) and also invite overseas teachers to come for special seminars.
