Professional Development:
The club aims to expand the members' understanding of the work environment and business opportunities in the community. It also aims to show how undertaking volunteer work is relevant to the work place, with skills such as communication, compromise and understanding of other parties. Examples of activities that are provided by Rotaract and Rotary for professional developm

ent are:

- Business networking mixers where Rotaractors are able to meet professional in an informal setting and learn from their experience.
- Seminars on management and marketing.
- Leadership development courses such as RYLA.
- Guest speakers on a variety of topics such as finance and resume writing.
- Improving public speaking skills with seminars and opportunity to speak to other clubs. Community Service:
The Rotaract motto is "Service above Self". Our main goals are to improve the world around us through service. Depending on the interests of the members, our community projects can be quite diverse. Such community based service projects may include:

- Educational projects such as tutoring programmes or mentoring.
- Supporting disadvantaged or disabled people.
- Addressing homelessness in the community.
- Environmental projects such as "Clean Up Australia Day" or restoring vegetation.
- Supporting existing charity groups. International Service:
Like for community service Rotaract aims to also assist those in need on an international level. These projects may also be in conjunction with Rotary Clubs and usually are humanitarian based projects. International service projects may include:

- Providing assistance after a natural disaster.
- Addressing poverty in developing nations.
- Increasing literacy rates around the world.
- Ensuring all people have basic human rights.
- Environmental projects such as supporting a sustainable lifestyle. Club/Social Service:
We also believe that for us to give to the community we must also be able to enjoy ourselves. Part of what the club aims to achieve is to ensure that lifelong friendships are established. Various social events are held throughout the year to promote a social environment for our members as well as inter-club events to ensure that strong ties are made between Rotaract clubs.

A huge Congratulations to the President of the University of Adelaide Rotaract Club in recognition of his hard work despite the difficulties that came with the pandemic year! Many of us in District 9685 can proudly say that despite his endlessly busy schedule and being distanced by several borders, he has still been a major source of not only inspiration but also support! We at Macquarie University Rotaract, also hope to be a source of support for Internationals Students and facilitate a safe space where everyone no matter their origins, interests or personalities etc can feel like they belong.... a real family! And with UniAdelaide as such an outstanding model, it makes our job slightly easier we dare say. Rotarians and Rotaracts we believe can reach a consensus in the fact that we can look to both Lenard and his Executive Team as endless inspiration and motivation. A BIG BIG BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Lenard once again on his outstanding achievements and also to his amazing Team! Your NSW colleagues applaud you!!! You've definitely left a great legacy behind nationally, if not Internationally!

Hills Rotaract are running our It’s in the Bag - Share the Dignity project again this year!

In the previous year we collected donations from setting up stalls outsides Woolworths and Coles in the Hills areas. We also held Bunnings bbqs and cupcakes stalls to raise funds to buy any other items we needed to fill up the bags.

Our goal last year was to make 100 bags (a mix of bags for mums with babies, teenagers and women). We smashed our goal by making 132 bags. 👛

This year because of COVID-19 restrictions we aren’t able to do our fundraising as we used to 😞 But we have a goal of 150 bags so we are reaching out to the community! if you have any extra bags/backpacks you don’t need, please consider donating. Please also consider donating sealed and new hygiene and sanitary items from the list below 🙂 We would be extremely thankful!

We are only a small club that want to make as big of a difference in helping others.

On the top of the flyer is an address where items can be dropped off at. If Quakers hill is too far and you would like to donate items, please message us so we can arrange pick up of items.
