The Greater Sydney Landcare Network is a membership-based community organisation that was incorporated in 2014. It aims to provide a support network for community groups and people who are working on-ground to protect and improve the natural environment of Greater Sydney. Our region covers metropolitan Sydney, greater western Sydney, Central Coast and the Blue Mountains.

🌿 Greater Sydney Landcare is growing and we’re looking for two new leaders!

GSL is seeking candidates for:
🔸Chair: providing leadership, building business connections and helping unlock new funding opportunities.
🔸Treasurer : working closely with our Finance Manager.

Both roles require strong knowledge of governance and finance in the not-for-profit sector.

With exciting changes underway to expand our services and strengthen fundraising, this is a great opportunity to help shape the future of Greater Sydney Landcare.

🚣Kayak with a purpose this Riverfest 💧
Start the morning at Silverwater Park with coffee before launching a kayak ont Duck River. No experience is needed! We will paddle this urban waterway, collecting litter and helping the environment.

We provide all kayak gear and everything you need for the day. Lunch is provided afterward. Just make sure you are dressed with a long sleeve pants and rashie and shoes your don’t mind getting wet.

Spots are limited and registration is essential.

To celebrate the start of Biodiversity Month and the arrival of Spring, we’re looking back at these incredible transformation photos from our planting day at Waterworth Park last year. Seeing these native plants now in full bloom is a beautiful reminder of what community action can achieve for our local environment. 🌸🐝

Ready to make a difference for our local wildlife? 🌿 Join Greater Sydney Landcare for a rewarding morning of Birding and Bushcare! Help us restore vital habitat for koalas and discover the incredible birds that call this area home. 🦜

📍 Edmund Rice Retreat & Conference Centre, Mulgoa (On-site parking available)
👟 Wear: Enclosed shoes, long sleeves, long pants, and sun protection. Don’t forget your water bottle and binoculars!

🌿Hands-on training in bush regeneration—no prior experience needed!
🦜Guided bird walk to spot local species.
🌭Free BBQ lunch provided for all volunteers.

We're excited to announce Ryde Hospital’s Blue Gum High Forest as the newest site in Greater Sydney Landcare's Corporate Engagement Program.

Over 9 acres, nestled alongside Ryde Hospital, this precious remnant of Blue Gum High Forest is one of Sydney's most threatened ecological communities. Home to towering eucalypts, diverse native plants and local wildlife, it needs ongoing care to remain healthy and resilient.

Join us to help restore this remarkable bushland by removing invasive weeds, supporting native regeneration and working alongside the dedicated local Bushcare volunteers who care for the site throughout the year.

Whether you're looking for a meaningful corporate volunteering day or want to connect your team with nature, this is your opportunity to make a lasting impact.

Happy International Day for the Conservation of Mangrove Ecosystems!

Mangroves have historically been undervalued and viewed as smelly wastelands and mosquito breeding grounds. Many mangrove forests have been reclaimed, degraded and lost. But they are so important for water quality, birds and aquatic life, controlling erosion and sequestering carbon. We're rooting for mangroves and you should too!
