JIPA: Jewish - Israeli Pride Australia Empowering Jewish LGBTQI+ voices for equality, safety, and vibrant community🌈✡️ We invite you to join us in our journey of solidarity and advocacy.

JIPA: Jewish-Israeli Pride Australia is a national group that aims to create a safe and supportive space for LGBTQI Jews or Israelis in Australia. We are a diverse and inclusive community that celebrates our identity and culture. We are also a passionate and active group that advocates for LGBTQI rights and inclusion, as well as for Israel’s right to exist and defend itself. We stand against antis

emitism, anti-Zionism, and any form of hatred and discrimination. We collaborate with Jewish community organisations at both state and federal levels to address the ongoing or potential threats to Jewish Q***r well-being in Australia. We are always open to new members and allies who share our vision and values. You can find us on our website and Facebook, message us here or contact us via email. We look forward to hearing from you!

Two years have passed since the October 7th massacre in Israel — a day of unimaginable loss, fear, and heartbreak.

JIPA: Jewish–Israeli Pride Australia pauses to remember the victims of that dark day — innocent civilians, families, women, young people who went out to dance, the elderly, babies, and even beloved pets whose lives were taken so violently.

We stand in mourning with all who continue to grieve, in solidarity with those still waiting for the safe return of loved ones, and in hope for a future where peace and dignity are not distant ideals but lived realities for all.

May the memories of those lost forever be a blessing.
May all hostages be brought safely home.
May no community ever endure such pain again.

We remember. We hold hope. 🕯️

🌈✨ Today is Bi+ Visibility Day ✨🌈

At JIPA, we celebrate the beauty of Jewish diversity — and that includes the many shades of love, identity, and belonging within our Bi+ community.

Jewish tradition teaches “B’tzelem Elohim” — that every person is created in the image of the Divine. On this day, we affirm that Bi+ Jews deserve to be seen fully, without erasure or invisibility. Just as our tradition embraces the richness of complexity — from both/and interpretations of Torah to holding multiple truths in Talmudic debate — so too do we honour the wholeness of Bi+ identities.

To our Bi+ siblings, families, and friends: we see you, we celebrate you, and we stand with you. Your presence strengthens the Jewish community, and your visibility is a blessing. 💜

Happy International Non- Binary People's Day 🫶🌈 love and strengh to all people whose gender doesn't subscribe to the binary.

Being an ally isn't complicated - it starts with listening, learning, and using the right pronouns. Speak up when something's not okay, and make sure your words and actions help everyone feel welcome and respected.

Everyone deserves to feel valid and safe just as they are.

Today, 28 May, marks the sixth annual LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Day.

Founded in 2020, this vital day exists to shine a spotlight on the often-hidden epidemic of domestic, family, and intimate partner violence impacting LGBTQ+ communities.

The initiative is recognised by communities, government departments and organisations from 20 countries, including England, France, Wales, the USA, Canada, India, Ireland, New Zealand and the Netherlands.

Today, the LGBTQ DV Awarness Foundation is inviting you to join them in their mission to raise awareness, provide education and break down barriers to accessing help.

It’s International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Transphobia and discrimination against Intersex people – otherwise known as IDAHOBIT.

Today we celebrate a community shaped by the most fundamental parts of our humanity - who we are and who we love.

On this day in 1990, the World Health Organisation finally removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases. It was a huge moment in the fight for equality, but we know the work isn’t over.

In fact, in 2025, LGBTQIA+ Australians are less likely to be ‘out’ at work than they were just a few years ago.

No one should have to hide who they are to feel safe or accepted. We all have a responsibility to call out discrimination when we see it – and push back against the culture wars that try to divide us.

While our community is rich with diversity, we share a collective history of resilience and determination, and we walk the same path on the road to full equality.

When we stand together we can achieve truly incredible things.

Today is Le***an Visibility Day — a powerful reminder to celebrate, uplift, and honour the experiences of Le***ans everywhere. 💖🏳️‍🌈

From activists and artists to everyday heroes, Le***ans have always been here — loving, leading, creating change, and carving out space where once there was none.

Visibility isn't just about being seen — it's about being valued, respected, and embraced for who you are. So today, and every day, we celebrate the Le***ans who live their truth, support their communities, and inspire others to do the same.

JIPA is wishing you and your family a Pesach filled with courage, connection, and the unshakable hope for freedom — both collective and personal. May this season of liberation brings the swift and safe return of all hostages, and may each of us, in our beautifully diverse LGBTQ Jewish family, feel ever more free to live, love, and be seen in our full truth. As we remember the exodus from bo***ge, may we also break free from internal and external constraints that keep us small. Here’s to a future where safety, justice, and joy are not just possible — but promised.
