Are you ready to help us fill 7,000 Christmas hampers?

Every year, we pack thousands of hampers for people across Sydney and regional NSW who may be facing financial hardship, loneliness or uncertainty.

These hampers are about more than food. They’re a reminder that someone cares, that no one is forgotten, and that everyone deserves to feel supported at Christmas.

Each hamper includes essentials like ham, rice, custard, tea and more. But we rely on generous people and organisations in our community to help fill them.

We’ll be welcoming food donations starting in September. So, to find out how you can get involved, please contact [email protected] 🎄

At the heart of what we do are people who choose to give their time.

For sisters Pam and Di, volunteering has been part of their lives for decades. Bringing their own experiences, skills and, most importantly, kindness, they continue to support guests here at the Foundation.

Their message to anyone thinking about volunteering is simple: “Anything you have in your life experience counts.”

Forty years ago, Rev. Bill Crews arrived at Ashfield Uniting Church without a plan. Then people started knocking on the door: a couple looking to be married at midnight, young people with nowhere else to sleep, a woman who sat with him to tell her story - what grew from those knocks became the Exodus Foundation, with programs that still run today.

In this interview marking his 40th anniversary, Bill speaks openly about the moments he treasures, and about a side of ministry that's easy to overlook. "The big thing I want to get across is the loneliness of doing this," he says.

We almost didn’t recognise Bill! 💙

After nearly a decade of black, a blue volunteer shirt was quite the occasion!

Bill spent the day joining the Governor-General to prepare meals, then headed out to our Woolloomooloo Food Van that night to see our team supporting people in the community.

Michael’s story is just one of 258 in the last 3 months.

After rough sleeping and facing challenges with Alcohol & Other Drug (AOD) use, mental health and housing, Michael came to us looking for support.

Through practical assistance, connection to services and support to secure accommodation, Michael is now housed and taking positive steps towards independence.

In the past 3 months, our AOD Hub has supported 258 appointments. That's 258 moments of impact, each belonging to a different person with their own story.
