Our unique combination of free meals and suite of health & outreach services provides an innovative and proven pathway out of poverty. We’ve given over 9 million meals to the poor and homeless. In our iconic Loaves & Fishes Free Restaurant we serve nutritious meals every single day and our mobile food van keeps the city’s homeless feed each night. Bill Crews Foundation’s emergency health & outreach services supply food parcels, housing assistance, and primary healthcare with the help of doctors, dentists and other clinical providers. Our long weekend looked a little different than usual!

We held our annual Blessing of the Animals, and this year we welcomed even more animals than ever.

Alongside a petting zoo of goats, sheep, llamas and chickens, families brought their own beloved pets to be blessed as we gathered to celebrate all living beings!

This World Teachers’ Day, we’re shining a light on Susie Bolkeman of Jingili Primary School in Darwin and the difference a dedicated teacher can make.

Through our targeted literacy intervention program, one Jingili student went from a reading age of just over 6 years to more than 11 years in 34 weeks.

Their reading fluency also increased from 20 to 98 words read correctly per minute.

Behind results like these are teachers who notice when a child is struggling, find new ways to support them, celebrate progress and keep believing in what they can achieve.

We are incredibly proud of the work being done alongside teachers and schools across the Northern Territory.

On the International Day of Non-Violence, we recognise that violence leaves a lifelong impact on individuals, families and communities around the world. Through his work in Australia, Bill has long witnessed the devastating effects of violence, and he recognises that these challenges extend far beyond borders.

This recognition led Bill to establish Bill Crews International (BCI) in 2024, with a mission to support conflict-affected communities to break cycles of violence and build safer, more hopeful futures.

Since its inception, BCI has partnered with local organisations in Gaza, Yemen and Lebanon, while maintaining a strong commitment to grassroots-led solutions in Sudan and South Sudan.

Through BCI’s flagship partnership with Your Aid for Health South Sudan (YAH), a transformative community-driven initiative is now underway to combat violence against women and girls in rural South Sudan.

Using the globally recognised SASA! methodology, YAH has begun their journey to support communities to address the social norms and power inequalities that contribute to violence, while building local expertise to create lasting change from within.

Over the next three years, this pioneering program aims to reach 30,000 people - helping women and girls live safer lives and strengthening communities’ ability to prevent violence for generations to come.

Recovery looks different for everyone. That’s why our Recovery Festival is so important, because people and families need different kinds of support, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to recovery.

What started as inspiration from the Recovery March in the UK has grown into something of our own. Inspired by what Bill saw there, he was driven to create a place where people and families can come together, share their stories, connect with others, and celebrate recovery in all its different forms.

A great day of connection, support and community at our annual Recovery Festival!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and to the organisations who came along to connect people and families with information, support and resources relating to alcohol and other drug (AOD) use.

A special thank you to Rainbow Lodge Program, The Glen Rehab, Family Drug Support, Community Restorative Centre (CRC), WHOS (We Help Ourselves), Haymarket Foundation, Phoebe House, Medicare & Centrelink, The Salvation Army Australia, Mission Australia, NUAA and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) for being part of the day.

Days like this help make support more accessible and remind people that they don’t have to navigate recovery alone 💙
